Mia Goth sued for allegedly assaulting a background actor
Variety reported on Friday, January 12, that a background actor named James Hunter has filed a lawsuit against Goth, claiming that she intentionally kicked him in the head during a scene while filming the A24 sequel "MaXXXine" in April of the previous year.
Hunter alleges that he suffered a concussion as a result of Goth's actions during the production of the horror film.
According to Variety, Hunter was hired for three days to play the role of a 'Dead Parishioner,' lying on the ground covered in fake blood for extended periods, enduring insects. In a particular scene, Goth was supposed to run past him, occasionally stepping over him, looking down, and continuing to run.
The lawsuit, as per Variety, asserts that on the fourth take, Goth nearly stepped on Hunter. He complained to the second assistant director, and the concern was conveyed to Goth. In the subsequent take, according to the suit, Goth intentionally kicked him in the head with her boot.

According to Variety, after completing the scene, Hunter alleges that he was in the bathroom when Goth entered and allegedly "taunted, mocked, and belittled" him, challenging him to take action.
Hunter experienced head pain, and the dried fake blood on his robe caused additional discomfort when removed, according to the lawsuit.
Variety reports that during the drive home, Hunter felt lightheaded. The following day, the casting agency informed him that the production did not require his services for the remaining two days. The lawsuit accuses Goth of battery and includes a wrongful termination claim against A24, Mia Goth, and Ti West.
