The term "metal" in slang is often used to describe something as cool, impressive, or hardcore, drawing its roots from the bold styles of the metal-rock music genre.

When Taylor Swift used the phrase "metal as hell" to describe Travis Kelce's actions, she was amplifying the level of coolness or boldness associated with them, per USA Today.

This all started back in July, on the 'New Heights' podcast, when Kelce was asked by his co-host and brother Jason about attending Swift's Eras Tour.

Kelce's humorous remark about not getting to meet Swift was seen as a bold or "metal" move, and it certainly caught her attention. So, in this context, "metal as hell" signifies a high degree of audacity or coolness.
