FRANCE, PARIS: The friendly rivalry between NFL stars and Olympic athletes took another turn as Miami Dolphins running back Raheem Mostert joined the playful exchange between teammate Tyreek Hill and Olympian Noah Lyles.

The exchange began after Hill boldly claimed he could outrun Lyles, the 2024 Olympic gold medalist in the men’s 100m, sparking a playful back-and-forth, as reported by MSN.com.

The 27-year-old Lyles, who recently won gold in the 100m final at the Paris Olympics with a blistering time of 9.78 seconds, became the focal point of Hill’s competitive spirit.

During an appearance on the 'Up & Adams' podcast, Hill confidently stated, "I would beat Noah Lyles. I'm not going to beat him by a lot, but I would beat Noah Lyles."

Lyles responded with a touch of humor, seemingly downplaying Hill’s challenge by quipping, "What's the Cheetah guy from football??? Well, I can't remember his name."

Not one to stay on the sidelines, Raheem Mostert jumped into the conversation, supporting his teammate and adding fuel to the friendly rivalry.

NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) on August 16, 2024, in which Mostert was asked about the ongoing banter between Hill and Lyles, and whether he would join the race.

"I mean obviously it takes training, right? We definitely have to get the training in, but honestly, I think it was all pretty good. I like our chances, I like our odds. We can definitely make some noise in that regard," Mostert remarked, expressing confidence in the Dolphins' speedsters.

He also praised Hill’s competitive energy, noting that he enjoys the fun and rivalry that Hill brings to the table.

Mostert’s confidence isn’t unfounded. Since 2018, he has held the title of the fastest ball carrier, reaching an impressive speed of 23.09 mph during Week 2 of the 2020 season.

Meanwhile, Hill, renowned as one of the fastest players in the league, has a personal best of 10.19 seconds in the 100m dash.

Interestingly, Mostert has previously claimed that he could outpace Hill, adding another layer of intrigue to the Dolphins’ internal speed competition.

As the playful banter continues, fans are left wondering if this friendly rivalry will eventually culminate in a track showdown. One thing is clear: with athletes like Hill and Mostert, the Miami Dolphins certainly have no shortage of speed.

Raheem Mostert and Tyreek Hill are both renowned for their impressive speed, but the question of who is truly the fastest remains.

While the stats generally favoring Hill, Mostert is confident in his own speed and believes he has the edge over his Miami Dolphins teammates, including Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

In an interview on 'The Rich Eisen Show' last year, Mostert expressed his belief that he could outperform Hill in a race. "Oh yeah, hands down, I win this race," Mostert declared.

He acknowledged Hill's quickness but argued that his own strength lies in his long strides.

"Tyreek is fast, don't get me wrong, but I can break down his speed. He has more of that quick twitch to him, too. For me, I'm more of a long-strider; once I get going, it's hard to catch me, it's hard to beat me," Mostert explained.

Mostert also mentioned Jaylen Waddle, suggesting that Waddle's speed falls somewhere between his own and Hill’s. He praised both Hill and Waddle, including rookie De'Von Achane, for their impressive bursts of speed.

Mostert's confidence extends to his belief that the Dolphins' combined speed could dominate any race, even claiming they could excel in a 4x100 relay.

Despite Mostert’s assertions, Hill’s speed is often highlighted in various statistics. He is widely recognized for his acceleration and top-end speed, which have made him a standout player in the NFL.

His impressive personal best in the 100m dash further supports his reputation as one of the fastest athletes in the league.
