LUMBER RIVER STATE PARK, NORTH CAROLINA: The wife of a well-known pastor in South Carolina made heartbreaking comments on social media prior to her untimely death on April 27, 2024.

According to her husband John-Paul Miller, Mica Miller, 30, died by suicide. However, friends and family are demanding a thorough investigation.

John-Paul announced his wife's untimely death as he concluded his Sunday, April 28, service at Solid Rock at Market Common in Myrtle Beach.

John-Paul sobbed as he spoke of her, saying she battled mental illness before killing herself.

Mica's body was discovered at the Lumber River State Park in Robeson County, North Carolina, two hours east of Charlotte, with a bullet wound to her head, according to the Robeson County Sheriff's Office.

The park is approximately 1.5 hours north of Myrtle Beach, where she was residing at the time of her passing according to her obituary.

Though her husband John-Paul said her death was a suicide, the cause of death has not been confirmed yet by officials.

John-Paul told ABC affiliate WPDE, "She had struggled with suicide before. Each time we would help her through it and take her to the doctor, and we got through it and everything was fine."

"She battled suicide but God took care of her and got her through it," he added. He also called her the "the greatest wife anyone could ask for".

Posts on social media claim that Mica, who was once Solid Rock's worship leader, had not been seen at the church in recent weeks, according to friends and family.

She would talk candidly about her difficulties online and frequently post lyrics from songs that gave her comfort.

Mica talked about the "terrible things" that had happened, in a mysterious post she shared on April 9.

She wrote, "When terrible terrible TERRIBLE things happen to you… (yall know what I’m talking about;) RPF: resting peace face," and implied that her followers understood what she meant.

While affirming her faith in God, Mica posted a picture of herself smiling that she referred to as her "resting peace face" with the post.

Her grandfather had commented on her post, "Stay strong and resilient, your family has your back."

Another person said, "Sending you love" and quoted the Bible, "He will never leave you nor forsake you."

Mica Miller's family demands extensive investigation

According to officials, there isn't currently a threat to the public. Family members demanded an extensive investigation after Mica's death. To raise money for the family's flight to South Carolina and burial costs, a GoFundMe page was established.

Mica was raised in Wichita, Kansas, and is survived by her parents, four sisters, her brother, her husband and five stepchildren. She had previously traveled to Kenya for church ministries, and before she passed away, she had planned to open a school there.

John-Paul announced that he would be taking an unspecified leave of absence from his pastoral responsibilities.

Solid Rock is a Christian church offering "dynamic praise and worship" along with "practical and applicable" sermons from John-Paul. He urged anyone who has a loved one experiencing mental health issues to support them in his heartfelt interview with WPDE.

"If you see any type of sign, get them to a doctor," he said. "I mean the second you see it. Don't wait."
