Michael Moore blasted after he urges Biden to resign and help Kamala Harris run as 'incumbent president'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Michael Moore has sparked a political debate by arguing that President Joe Biden should resign to bolster Kamala Harris' election campaign.
On Sunday, July 21, Joe Biden announced he was ending his reelection campaign and endorsed Vice President Harris as his replacement in the 2024 race.
Michael Moore's argument on Joe Biden's resignation
Director and activist Michael Moore stated on Monday, July 22, that Kamala Harris would be in a stronger position to win the November election if she could run as the incumbent president.
“This will give the country a chance to see her in action — as the most powerful person in the world. She will have three and a half months (as they say, ‘an eternity in politics’) to show the American people her smarts, her strengths, her heart," he wrote on Substack.
Recently, Republicans in Congress have intensified their calls for Biden to resign, arguing that if he is unfit to run for reelection, he is also unfit to lead the country.
Michael Moore suggests Gov Gretchen Whitmer as Kamala Harris' VP pick
Michael Moore further suggested that Kamala Harris should prioritize his home state of Michigan by selecting Governor Gretchen Whitmer as her vice-presidential running mate.
However, Whitmer indicated on Monday, July 22, that she is not interested in the position, according to The Hill.
Addressing voter discontent, Moore wrote, “The vote amongst liberals and Democrats is seriously depressed. Millions are in despair. Many have given up."
“The youth vote is down due to the Gazan war. The Arab American vote is essentially gone," he added.
Michael Moore is optimistic about Kamala Harris's presidential run against Donald Trump
Despite these challenges, Michael Moore expressed his optimism for Kamala Harris' election campaign against Donald Trump.
“Trump. Is. Beatable. Soooo beatable!! And he knows it. Trump is going to lose because we are the majority. America hates what he stands for," he wrote.
“In 2020, after seeing and living through the trainwreck of his presidency, the citizenry removed him by over 7 million votes and sent him packing,” the activist continued,
“Nothing he’s done in the past four years has convinced millions of these voters to change their minds," he added.
Internet slams Michael Moore urging Joe Biden to resign to help Kamala Harris' campaign
As Michael Moore urged Joe Biden's resignation to elevate Kamala Harris in beating Donald Trump, netizens mocked the director's argument.
"ALL respect lost for Michael Moore. Have anyone else noticed that he ALWAYS speaks from fear?" a user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote while another individual wrote, "It would seriously help if Moore took a 4 month vacation from running his bazoo."

"Very delusional thought," observed someone else while another netizen penned, "So Moore wants Harris to be burdened with running the country and a critical highly contested campaign at the same time? Dumb."
