Michael Rapaport slams 'working class' citizen Zohran Mamdani for dining at pricey NYC restaurant

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Actor Michael Rapaport took a jab at Democratic New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani for having dinner at one of the priciest restaurants despite claiming to be a "working class" citizen.
The actor and comedian tore into the socialist for preaching about the working class while seemingly enjoying luxuries that are well beyond the average working-class person’s reach.
How’s a so-called “working class” mayoral candidate like Zohran Mamdani eating at OMEN SUSHI tonight — one of the priciest joints in NYC? 🍣💰

Michael Rapaport says Zohran Mamdani 'ain’t working class'
Taking a jab at Zohran Mamdani, Michael Rapaport shared a picture of the New York City mayoral candidate eating at Omen Sushi and wrote, "How’s a so-called 'working class' mayoral candidate like Zohran Mamdani eating at OMEN SUSHI tonight, one of the priciest joints in NYC?"
Meanwhile, Rapaport didn’t hold back his feelings about Mamdani’s expensive meal at the famous restaurant with his wife Rama Duwaji, and added, "This clown lives in a rent-stabilized apartment in Queens but dines like a diplomat on a Qatar-funded per diem." "Who’s paying for that toro, ‘Zoron the Moron’?" the actor questioned.

Moreover, Rapaport grilled Mamdani for preaching about the working class while enjoying luxuries that are well beyond the average working-class person’s reach.
He added, "You ain’t working class, you’re fraud class." Interestingly, the pricey joint boasts hot pot dishes priced at $93 and a seasonal tasting dinner priced at $145, per their website.

The actor's jab at Mamdani comes just seven months after the socialist shared a photo of himself eating on the subway, a sharp contrast to the fancy restaurant mentioned in Rapaport’s post.
Zohran Mamdani calls out Andrew Cuomo’s record with NYC’s Muslim community
Zohran Mamdani publicly challenged former Governor Andrew Cuomo, accusing him of failing to engage with the city’s Muslim community during his decade-long tenure.

In a clip that went viral, Mamdani was seen declaring that Cuomo was unfit to lead New York City and argued that his record showed a complete lack of connection with Muslim New Yorkers.
"He had over 10 years and he couldn’t name a single mosque that he visited! Muslims [want] equality and respect!" Mamdani said. He further pressed, asking pointedly, “Name a SINGLE mosque you went to when governor. Can you name a single mosque you went to in 10 years?”

Meanwhile, Cuomo shot back and said Mamdani’s accusation was unfair and overlooked years of advocacy. He said, "I have worked with the Muslim community for many, many years, before you were even here."
Moreover, he argued that meaningful relationships are built through policy and partnership, not merely symbolic visits, insisting his record stands on substance, not spectacle.
As the New York City mayoral race heats up, the clash may rally Muslim voters behind Mamdani, who positions himself as a candidate attuned to their concerns. However, Cuomo’s defense seeks to reassure skeptical voters that his past work goes deeper than attendance records.
