Michael Strahan considering walking away from 'GMA' and incredible pay packet: 'He’s had enough'

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former NFL star Michael Strahan is reportedly considering quitting 'Good Morning America' by the summer, potentially ending his eight-year run on the renowned morning show.
The renowned football legend Strahan, who plays a significant role in 'Fox NFL Sunday' coverage, is reportedly preparing to leave his job at 'GMA' when his $20 million contract with the ABC program comes to an end, per Radar Online.
Michael Strahan appears to have 'had enough' of 'Good Morning America'
Insiders reported to News Nation that the 'Fox NFL Sunday' expert appears to have "had enough" of the program and is seeking to reduce his work schedule in order to spend more time with his family.
Strahan, 53, reportedly re-evaluated his priorities in life after his daughter Isabella experienced a severe health scare due to a brain tumor, which sparked the rumors that he was leaving the show.
"He will be out by this summer — he's had enough," an insider said.
Another source, however, stated: "Several higher ups at ABC say this isn't true. There's no truth that I'm aware of that about this at this current juncture. That piece is strictly speculative rumor mill stuff."
"If you just read it, it just sounds like someone with a very specific point of view and a very specific desire to make things suddenly complicated for GMA," they added.
This announcement followed a difficult time for Strahan, who took an extended leave of absence from 'Good Morning America' in October 2023 because of his daughter Isabella's health issues.
Strahan's fans showered Isabella with support and well wishes after she had three surgeries to remove a brain tumor.
According to reports, this experience has caused Strahan to reevaluate his priorities and place a higher value on spending time with his loved ones.

Strahan made hints about a gradual exit from television in a 2024 Forbes interview. "I won’t go cold turkey on everything, but I see myself slowly dropping different things until eventually, you’ll just find me on the golf course," he said at the time.
Emphasizing the importance of time, Strahan said: "Time is the one thing that once it’s gone, you can never get it back. I’m very conscious of that, being a dad. That’s what has led me to think more about the end of my career."
Michael Strahan reportedly makes over $20 million a year
Former NFL player and veteran TV personality Michael Strahan currently works up to six or seven days a week during football season to balance his roles as a 'Fox NFL Sunday' analyst and his duty as a 'GMA' host.
After a successful stint on 'Live! with Kelly and Michael', Strahan signed a full-time position at 'GMA' in 2016 and reportedly earns over $20 million per year, which is becoming unsustainable due to layoffs at ABC News.
According to network insiders, 'GMA' hosts Robin Roberts, Michael Strahan, and George Stephanopoulos are "literally the most hated people in the building right now" because of the intense animosity they have for their multimillion-dollar salaries.
After the network's recent cutbacks, one insider claimed, "Now producers are doing the work of two people… with one paycheck."
News of Strahan's possible departure coincides with probable changes in Fox's coverage of the NFL when coworkers like Jimmy Johnson made references to TV retirement after a season where the network televised Super Bowl LIX, per the Irish Star.
Despite the speculation, Strahan was recently featured on 'GMA's Instagram as the show celebrated the week's highlights, including a Wednesday tidbit where the host revealed his favorite karaoke selection.
