WASHINGTON, DC: Once considered Elon Musk’s most close-knit buddy, President Donald Trump is now said to have flipped the script, turning betrayer against his former "first buddy" in spectacular fashion.

Trump biographer Michael Wolff shockingly claimed that the 79-year-old president has been boasting about playing a role in taking the Tesla CEO down by tipping off the New York Times about this drug use.

In May, the White House was rocked by a bombshell NYT report claiming that the 53-year-old tech mogul was using ketamine, as well as Adderall, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms, during Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign.

The report even went on to quote an anonymous source claiming that claimed that Musk had been suffering from bladder issues due to his considerable ketamine consumption.

Donald Trump talked about dropping a dime to the NYT on Elon Musk's 'drug taking' in calls with associates

Due to the anonymity of the sources in the NYT reports, fingers were raised at many Republicans working inside the White House.

But now Wolff claimed that it was Trump himself who snitched on his once-closest ally. Appearing on 'The Daily Beast' podcast on Wednesday, June 3, the author claimed that he caught the president trashing his former pal on phone calls with associates.

“I was tracking some Trump phone calls on Monday night. And it’s sort of worth explaining here that over a long period of time, I’ve gotten to know and cultivated a lot of people who Trump regularly speaks to,” Wolff told host Joanna Coles.

Wolff, who didn’t speak directly with the president, claimed that Trump made the remarks on Monday, after Musk threatened to launch a new political party if his much hyped ‘big, beautiful bill’ gets pushed through

“And he's like calling people to say, ‘Do you think Elon is crazy? I think he's crazy,’” Wolff said.

“He was on about, 'You know… how many drugs [Musk] takes, you know… He takes drugs all the time. The New York Times wrote about it. They said he takes drugs.' And then [Trump] went on to say… 'You know, actually, we dropped a dime to The New York Times on Elon for taking… on Elon's drug taking,'"

Donald Trump and Elon Musk reignite their feud

Michael Wolff’s bombshell claims came as Donald Trump and Elon Musk reignited their furious feud after the Tesla boss launched fresh attacks on the president’s much-loved ‘big, beautiful bill’ on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

This time, Trump even stated that he would “take a look” at deporting Musk. His threats were followed by Musk’s warning to fund primary challenges against Republican members who vote for legislation.

“Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hang their head in shame! And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth,” Musk wrote on X.

Trump also intimated that he would turn Musk’s signature Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) against his old ally. “We might have to put DOGE on Elon. You know what DOGE is? DOGE is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon,” the president said.
