WASHINGTON, DC: Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s alleged divorce battle has gone a notch above after the recent talks of splitting their $70 million fortune went completely out of the window, rendering the plan to neatly divide their assets fruitless.

As reported by RadarOnline, an insider shared that the Obamas, who have been married for more than three decades, are reportedly laying down the blueprint of their asset division, while also urging their daughters, Malia Ann Obama, 26, and Sasha Obama, 23, to pick sides in their parents’ divorce battle.

Speaking to an outlet, the source claimed that the former first lady, 61, went ballistic when the plan was not finalized according to her desire. This came just a few days after it was speculated that they are back in couples therapy in an attempt to save their marriage.

Barack and Michelle Obama's asset division plans face uncertainty

The source shared that the divorce battle fired up after the secret deal dividing the assets went out the window as the two parties could not agree on the division.

According to the source, the lawyers laid down a plan last month where the former first lady would have received portions of the joint properties, which would have let her pursue her Hollywood dreams.

In the plan, it was initially decided that Michelle would retain complete control of their production company, Higher Ground production company, along with getting their Chicago house and Martha's Vineyard estate.

Barack, on the other hand, would have received their DC mansion, while splitting their stock portfolio, worth about $22.5 million.

However, problems allegedly arose when the Nobel Prize-winning president demanded a share in the couple’s film production business, leading Michelle to get entirely riled up.

The source reflected on the altercation, while adding that the couple allegedly asked their daughters to choose sides in the divorce battle.

"It was a messy scene and not at all keeping with the calm and nurturing image they both project in public. The girls were positively shell-shocked," they shared.

Talking about Michelle’s alleged outburst at Barack’s demands, the insider continued, "She doesn’t want Barack anywhere near it. The notion of him profiting from her sweat and vision galled her, and she’s apparently willing to go to war over it."

However, following Michelle’s angry demonstration, Barack has reportedly flipped around and refused to relinquish control of the Martha’s Vineyard property to Michelle.

"When Michelle raised a stink over the Higher Ground profits, he dug in his heels and nixed the idea of her having it,” explained the source.

Barack and Michelle Obama’s divorce rumors swirling since Jimmy Carter’s state funeral

The rumors surrounding the former first couple’s divorce gained online momentum after Barack Obama attended former president Jimmy Carter’s state funeral alone earlier in January.

Just a few days later, Barack also attended President Donald Trump’s inauguration at the US Capitol alone while his wife was in Hawaii.

Though the couple has since then shared loving posts on their respective Instagram accounts to celebrate Valentine’s Day, an insider shared that their marriage is on the brink of destruction.

The source shared, "They don't pretend that they have this Camelot relationship. They're not trying to present that they're this magical couple."
