Michelle Monaghan recalls 'making out' with Tom Cruise while filming 'Mission: Impossible III' during her honeymoon

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Michelle Monaghan recently recalled how she had to kiss Tom Cruise for 'Mission: Impossible III', which took place during her purported honeymoon.

Monaghan married Peter White in 2005, shortly before the filming for 'Mission: Impossible III' started, leading to them having to postpone their honeymoon plans due to an unforeseen schedule conflict.

However, White was "proud" of his actress wife even though her first scene called for her to get "intimate" with Cruise.

Michelle Monaghan missed her honeymoon to film 'Mission Impossible: III' 

In a joint Collider interview with her 'The Family Plan' co-star Mark Wahlberg, Monaghan discussed having to forgo her honeymoon to work on the set of 'Mission Impossible: III'.

She also mentioned how supportive her husband, White, was of her "making out" with Cruise.

The topic arose when Monaghan was asked which of her acting roles she was most anxious to film.

She noted, "Mission: Impossible III, for sure. For sure. It was JJ Abrams. It was just such a big film."

The 'Made of Honor' star recalled how difficult it might have been, considering that she had been newly married and Cruise was set to marry Katie Holmes.

When filming compelled Monaghan to shorten her honeymoon, she had no choice but to accept the role's potential significance for her career. However, she acknowledges that it seemed strange to be kissing Cruise on set when she was meant to be on vacation with her new spouse.

Monaghan stated, "It was just such a big film. I had just gotten married and kind of skipped my honeymoon to start the film right away. I remember going to work, and Tom and I had kind of an intimate scene, and of course that was the first scene," as per Daily Mail.

Monaghan elaborated, "I worked hard to get that role, and it was just one of those things. But I was very nervous, of course, the night before, and then proceeded to have just an amazing shoot with JJ and Tom, and I have all the respect for them and that franchise." 

The actress starred opposite Cruise as Julia Meade, his character's fiancee, in the 2006 film 'Mission: Impossible III'. She reprised her role in the later films 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' and 'Mission: Impossible Fallout.'

In the interview with Collider, Monaghan recounted, "He goes, ‘How cool is it that you were making out with Tom Cruise on our honeymoon?' Because we’re just such fans," while talking about her husband, White. 

The former 'True Detective' actress commended her "sweet" spouse for showing signs of pride at the moment, referring to his response as a "testament to the man that [she] married."

"[He] has just been totally supportive and is excited and jazzed for the opportunities," expressed Monaghan, adding, "We just got married and really discovered our careers in New York together, and so that was really special."

White and Monaghan got married in Sydney in 2005 after meeting in 2000. They share two children, son Tommy Francis, 9, and daughter Willow Katherine, 14, as per Page Six.
