LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Michelle Yeoh would like her grandson to wait a little before watching her perform in the latest ‘Wicked’ film.

The Oscar winner was present at the Los Angeles premiere of her Netflix series ‘The Brothers Sun' and got candid while answering questions related to her musical series.



 

Michelle Yeoh was nervous about her vocal abilities

When asked what movies she’d like her little grandson to watch first, she responded, “I was thinking, I’ve done a musical, ‘Wicked.’ … I play a witch. What is not going to traumatize them? Maybe not one of my movies. Until they’re older.”

The 61-year-old also joked about her singing abilities in the ‘Wicked’ film. “I say, ‘Good luck to you all,'” she joked.

She earlier said, “I went in thinking this is going to be so scary — they’re going to recast me when they hear me. But I am having so much fun!”

In her latest film ‘The Brothers Sun', Yeoh can be seen as Mama Sun, mother of the Sun brothers, Charles (Justin Chien) and Bruce (Sam Song Li).

What to expect from 'Wicked?'

Coming to the ‘Wicked,’ it is a two-part adaptation of the Broadway musical of the same name. It is based on Gregory Maguire’s novel ‘Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West’ (which was based on L. Frank Baum’s novel 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz').

The story of ostracized, green-skinned Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and him becoming the Wicked Witch of the West, as per Variety. Michelle Yeoh, the first Asian to win the Academy Award last year, married Jean Todt after being engaged for 19 years.

Michelle Yeoh's husband Jean Todt is the former CEO of Ferrari. He is French by birth and later followed his passion for motorsport. He started his career as a co-driver and following his retirement, he served as the Director of Racing for Peugeot up until 1993.

Michelle is widely known for her flicks, such as 'Yes, Madam' (1985), 'Magnificent Warriors' (1987), and 'Holy Weapon' (1993).
