NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Mick Jagger's girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, 37, urged critics to "mind their own business" after they questioned the couple's 44-year age gap as per Fox News.

The couple initially met backstage at a Rolling Stones concert in Tokyo, Japan, in February 2014, where Jagger casually greeted her with a fist bump before continuing on his way.

During an interview with The Times, Melanie Hamrick said, "I don’t think about it (age gap). Everyone’s going to have their opinion. If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem, and you’re going to analyze it."

She added, "I put the blinders on. Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. OK, they can mind their own business."

A month after the couple's meeting in 2014, Jagger's longtime girlfriend, fashion designer L'Wren Scott, tragically took her own life. Following her death, Jagger expressed his heartbreak, saying he was "struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way."

Jagger soon entered a relationship with Hamrick, who emphasized that she wasn't starstruck by the lead singer. She remarked, "Ballet dancers meet some of the biggest stars and act, like, ‘Who are you?’ Because, to us, ballet dancers are the gods. That’s who you study and look up to. You’re so in your world."

Melanie Hamrick calls Mick Jagger 'the perfect balance'

Even though Mick Jagger isn't part of the ballet world, Melanie Hamrick described him as "the perfect balance." She explained, "He’s not a ballet dancer, but he is a dancer and a performer, and we understand each other’s worlds, yet we’re not in each other’s worlds."

The couple has a son named Deveraux "Devi" Octavian Basil Jagger, born in 2016. He is Jagger's eighth child from his fifth partner.



 

Mick Jagger has seven other children: Karis Hunt Jagger, Jade Sheena Jezebel Jagger, Elizabeth Scarlett Jagger, James Leroy Augustin Jagger, Georgia May Ayeesha Jagger, Gabriel Luke Beauregard Jagger, and Lucas Maurice Morad Jagger.

Jagger inspired Hamrick to write her novel 'First Position', which debuted in 2023, with the follow-up 'The Unraveling' to come out on September 26, 2024.

People on the internet stayed divided and had mixed reactions as Melanie Hamrick asked critics to "mind their own business" who seemed to be bothered by the couple's 44-year age gap.

Some online comments read, "There’s never an age issue so as long that there’s plenty of $$ to fill in the gap." and "Money may not buy happiness, but it sure smooths over the rough spots."

A user also wrote, "You can call the situation & her all you want.

But…If I was Mick, I’d do it exactly this way!" while another commented, "The two best dating experiences I had before meeting my wife was with a woman seven years older and one who was 15 years younger. The age differences meant nothing to us."
