Miley Cyrus hailed as 'free-spirited' after she clarifies not wearing underwear remark from Grammys speech

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Miley Cyrus' fans rejoiced as the singer provided clarification on the "no underwear" remark she made after 'Flowers' won Record of the Year at the 2024 Grammy Awards. 

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the 'Wrecking Ball' artist wrote, "First Mariah then Meryl & Mark. It’s so fun to share the stage with my friends @kidharpoon @pollackmusic @tylersamj This third photo sums up our relationship perfectly. You 3 wanting me to do all the talking until I start talking…."

She also attached photos from the Grammys, including moments with Meryl Streep and her supportive team. 

The singer further stated, "PS I was only kidding…. I had on matching custom @gucci panties🤎 thank you for the head to toe chocolate custom couture Sabato xoxo you don’t forget a thing. Love you all."

Notably, Cyrus' fans stood by her side after she was criticized over the split-toe shoes the singer wore on the Grammys red carpet.

According to Daily Mail, Cyrus had the audience cheering as she concluded her Grammy acceptance speech for the Record of the Year with a playful quip about forgetting her underwear. She delivered the remark while donning a Gucci gown featuring a daring leg slit that ascended to her waist.

The 'We Can't Stop' singer, who also bagged the Best Pop Solo Performance award, expressed, "This award is amazing. But I really hope that it doesn't change anything because my life was beautiful yesterday."

She added, "Not everyone in the world will get a Grammy, but everyone in this world is spectacular...So please don't think that this is important, even though it's very important, right guys?"

"Everyone that's standing on this stage right now Tom, Tyler, Michael, and Greg...our teams, my team, Crush, Columbia, my mommy, my sister, my love, my main gays because look how good I look...Anyone else? Your wife, your fiancee, all the people that we love. Thank you all so much," expressed Cyrus.

The songstress did leave out her father, Billy Ray, from the speech, sparking speculations of a possible rift. 

While concluding the speech, Cyrus playfully remarked about potentially forgetting underwear, stating, "I don't think I forgot anyone. But I might have forgotten underwear. Bye!"
