Miranda Cosgrove shares she's 'never been drunk' in her life and Internet has a hard time believing it

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During an appearance on fellow 'Nickelodeon' alum Josh Peck's 'Good Guys' podcast, Miranda Cosgrove disclosed that she has never smoked or been drunk. She did, however, say that she is "open to it."

The 30-year-old actress, who rose to fame from 'iCarly' and 'Drake & Josh', reminisced with her former co-star on the show about her journey from a child actor to adulthood.

The actress continued by saying that she has never used drugs. However, she acknowledged having an "edible brownie", saying it was the closest thing she had ever done to going "crazy."

While Josh called his sobriety journey a “foundation that has kept [him] really anchored,” he shared details of it with Page Six in an exclusive interview published in 2022.

Josh Peck asked if Miranda had ever done anything "bad," hoping he would not have to hear her confess anything too crazy, unable to break free from the brotherly bond they had developed on and off screen.

The podcast host was taken aback by her response. Josh had struggled with drugs and alcohol at the height of his career and has been clean since 2008, as per Page Six.

"Have you ever done anything bad?" asked the 37-year-old 'Drake and Josh' actor, adding, "Like, do you drink? Do you do any of that?"

Josh was shocked by Miranda's response but in a very different way. The 30-year-old 'iCarly' actress claimed she had never been drunk, much less buzzing.

She replied, "I've never been drunk in my entire life. Crazy. I don't know. I'm open to it."

Miranda acknowledged that she has no idea why she has never been drunk, but she speculated that it might have something to do with how much alcohol she usually drinks in social situations.

"I truly don't have a good reason. I've never even been buzzed. I've sipped things before, but like two sips," the actress acknowledged.

Josh joked once about getting someone from the studio to bring in some alcohol so she could experience it for herself at last. Then, in jest, he called her "pure" because she had managed to go so long without it happening.

Miranda Cosgrove made other confessions and stated that she has never consumed recreational drugs and that she has never smoked weed.

The 'iCarly' actress clarified, "No, I've never smoked anything. I had an edible, an edible brownie, and I fell asleep for 17 hours. I woke up super rested."

The actress added that, despite attending USC, where she remembered partying quite seriously, she doesn't "have a good reason" for never having been intoxicated.

Miranda said that she has never been drunk since she was always assigned the role of designated driver when she went out with her friends, yet she feels there is a part of her that won't allow herself to go to that point of excess.

"I think it started off because I was always the designated driver when I went out with my friends, and I sort of liked taking on that role and got used to it and just kind of stuck with it forever," she explained.

Miranda did, however, assert that she is "still planning" to get drunk eventually.

The 'School of Rock' actress quipped, "I’m still planning on [drinking] at some point … even though I’m 30. … I should’ve done it on my birthday, my 30th."

Internet divided over Miranda Cosgrove's good girl statement

Miranda Cosgrove's revelation split followers on social media, with some dismissing her comments, while others applauding the celebrity for never having smoked or had alcohol in her life.

"Girl stop lying we all tried a lil crack atleast once in our lives," claimed one user on X (formerly Twitter).

 While a second one added, "I don’t believe her, she her favorite cuss word is f***."

"Girl we read the book …you is a lie," said a third one.

Some thought her lifestyle was admirable with one individual noting, "That is good and she is beautiful."

A second one admired the actress and said, "It's commendable that Miranda Cosgrove has chosen to live a substance-free lifestyle."

"W for her. You shouldn’t need to drink or smoke to enjoy life and I’m glad she never had to," chimed in another supporter.

Another added, "What matters most is finding activities that bring joy without compromising personal values or wellbeing."
