Model-actress Dayle Haddon, 76, dies in suspected carbon monoxide leak at Pennsylvania home
PENNSYLVANIA, PHILADELPHIA: Dayle Haddon, a renowned model, actress, and humanitarian, died at 76 due to suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.
The tragic incident occurred at the Pennsylvania home of her son-in-law, Hallmark star Marc Blucas, in Solebury Township.
Marc Blucas' dad was found unconscious
Police responded to a 911 call early on December 27 and discovered Dayle Haddon deceased in a second-floor bedroom.
Marc's father Walter Blucas, 76, was found unconscious on the first floor and is currently receiving treatment at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Authorities have attributed the incident to a faulty flue and exhaust pipe on the home’s gas heating system.
Two medics also required hospitalization for carbon monoxide exposure, while a police officer was treated at the scene, according to People.
Dayle Haddon's legacy in fashion and film
Born in Canada, Dayle Haddon enjoyed a storied career in fashion, gracing the covers of Vogue, Elle, and Cosmopolitan.
She became the face of major cosmetic brands such as Revlon, Max Factor, Estee Lauder, and L’Oreal.
Dayle also appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1973, solidifying her status as a supermodel.
In film, she starred in Disney’s 'The World’s Greatest Athlete' and 'North Dallas Forty' alongside Nick Nolte.
Beyond her modeling and acting, Dayle was an accomplished author, penning books like 'Ageless Beauty' and 'The 5 Principles of Ageless Living'.
