WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Nancy Mace alleged on Friday, February 27, that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton became “screaming” and “unhinged” during a closed-door deposition before the House Oversight Committee on Oversight and Reform as part of its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

The remarks followed Clinton's six-hour testimony in Chappaqua, New York.

Mace said that Clinton reacted strongly when asked about photos of former President Bill Clinton that were included in Justice Department files related to Epstein.

A spokesperson for Clinton disputed the characterization, while committee leaders said video of the testimony would be released publicly.

Mace alleges heated exchange over photos

Mace described Clinton’s demeanor while being questioned about images released by the Department of Justice related to Jeffrey Epstein.

“She was screaming. She was unhinged. I hope that President Clinton is less unhinged today than his wife was yesterday,” Mace said.

According to Mace, she asked Clinton about her reaction upon seeing photos of her husband included in the files.

Clinton responded, “We’re not here to discuss my feelings,” according to the account provided by the lawmaker. Mace repeated twice during the interview that Clinton was “screaming” and “unhinged.” However, Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the committee, disputed that description.

Clinton's spokesman Nick Merrill also rejected Mace’s account in blunt terms, telling CNN that she is “full of sh*t.” Merrill said, “Was she appalled that Congresswoman Mace wouldn’t let her answer a question about her work as a senator after the murder of 3,000 Americans on 9/11? Absolutely.”

Mace responded on social media, disputing that characterization.

“Since Hillary’s spokesperson is trying to spin Hillary’s meltdown yesterday, as she became unglued, screaming, let me be abundantly clear: Hillary Clinton shamefully used... 9/11 as a scapegoat to cover for her and her family’s close relationship with Howard Lutnick, Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislane Maxwell," she said.

"Keep spinning Hillary, cause that’s what you have to do your part in one of the greatest cover ups in American history.”

Clinton says she has “no new information” on Epstein

In her prepared opening statement, on Thursday, February 26, Clinton said she had “no new information” regarding Epstein or his longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

“I had no idea about their criminal activities,” Clinton said. “I do not recall ever encountering Mr Epstein. I never flew on his plane or visited his island home or offices.”

Bill Clinton was also deposed by the committee on Friday, February 27, where he objected to its decision to require his wife to testify.

“You made Hillary come in. She had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Nothing. She has no memory of even meeting him. She neither traveled with him nor visited any of his properties,” he said.

Mace has suggested the committee should question Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick next, over his reported ties to Epstein.

In a post on X, she wrote, “Howard Lutnick should take questions from the Oversight committee.” Comer said ahead of Bill Clinton’s deposition that calling Lutnick to testify was “very possible.”
