Nancy Guthrie’s blood outside Tucson home shows bleeding from hands or face, expert says
TUCSON, ARIZONA: The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie has entered its second week, with troubling evidence raising new questions. Photos obtained by Fox News Digital show blood droplets on the ground outside her front door and along her driveway.
Law enforcement later confirmed through DNA testing that the blood belongs to Nancy Guthrie.
Dr Michael Baden analyzes blood droplets outside Nancy Guthrie’s home
Forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden examined the droplets and said their shape and distribution could reveal how the blood was shed. “Nancy Guthrie is bleeding from some area, either the hands or the face,” Baden told Fox News Digital. He noted that several spots had pale centers, describing them as donut-shaped.

“These patterns are typical for blood from the nose or mouth because the drops mix with air,” he explained. “It indicates she was either coughing up blood or dripping from the nose. Otherwise, it could have come from cuts on the hands or face.”
Baden added that the droplet pattern suggest Guthrie may have been unable or did not attempt to stop the bleeding while moving from the porch toward the driveway.
Blood pattern may indicate abduction, expert says
The placement of the blood outside the home is also significant, according to Baden. He said the pattern could be consistent with an abduction scenario. “These drops indicate that it did not occur by innocent means,” he said.
He elaborated that the number, shape, and location of the droplets are inconsistent with accidental or minor injuries. “These are not innocent droplets. The blood outside the house on the porch is entirely consistent with occurring during an abduction,” Baden noted.
Authorities have not officially confirmed that an abduction took place. No suspects, persons of interest, or arrests have been publicly announced.
