WASHINGTON, DC: A recent Wall Street Journal poll found that former president Donald Trump had a two-point advantage over Vice President Kamala Harris.

In the poll conducted after President Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race, the former president received 49 percent of registered voters support, compared to 47 percent for the vice president.

Harris outperformed Biden by a considerable margin as the latter was trailing Trump by six points in a Wall Street Journal poll earlier this month. That poll was taken not long after Biden's appalling presidential debate performance, which led to calls for his withdrawal from the race.

Poll found sharp rise in Kamala Harris’ favorability among registered voters

Joe Biden withdrew from the election last weekend after weeks of dissent within his party over whether or not to terminate his campaign over worries about his age, mental health, and potential to win the presidency again in November.

Additionally, the survey revealed a sharp increase in registered voters' favorability of Harris, who went from 35 percent earlier this month to 46 percent, an increase of 11 points. By contrast, Biden's favorability was found to be at 39 percent and Trump's at 47 percent in the poll.

Kamala Harris received multiple key endorsements from Democratic Party members

After Joe Biden withdrew from the race, Kamala Harris immediately won the party's major endorsements, which included the President himself and ex-POTUS Barack Obama.

Additionally, she has witnessed an increase in fundraising and has secured enough delegates' commitments to secure the nomination.

The Wall Street Journal survey, which included 1,000 registered voters, was carried out from July 23 to 25. An article published in the Journal about the poll states that its margin of error is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

Internet berates Kamala Harris as she narrowly trails behind Donald Trump

Netizens lashed out at the presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee after the latest WSJ showed her trailing behind Donald Trump by just two points.

One X user tweeted, "She’s a communist just watched her campaign of 2020 that’s why she had to drop out. Furthermore she was the very worst vice president in history. She did nothing absolutely nothing.!"

"This will be the peak of Harris. As the bullshit it wiped away and she is fully exposed - made as responsible for our problems as Biden - Harris will plummet by he convention. There are far too many video of her clips that affirm her radicalism," said another individual.

"Who is the real Kamala? Nobody seems to know. No children, no real friends. Just a fake marriage. Maybe Willie Brown knows," slammed one.

"Holocaust Harris is unelectable," remarked someone else.
