Nick Cannon admits he would 'absolutely' reconcile with ex-wife even if she 'doesn't want' him
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Nick Cannon's heart is still singing Mariah Carey's tune as the 43-year-old actor recently revealed he’d be more than willing to reignite his romance with his ex-wife, Carey, 55, even after eight years apart.
In a candid moment with E! News, Cannon didn't hold back, saying, “Yes, absolutely. Be stupid if I wouldn’t. We belong together.” He delivered the line with a touch of humor, showing his affection hasn't dimmed.
Nick Cannon jokes about parenting a 'whole baseball team'
However, Nick Cannon isn’t exactly holding his breath for a reunion. “She don’t want me,” he confessed with a resigned chuckle.
Adding a playful twist to the interview, his 'We Playin’ Spades' co-host, Courtney Bee, chimed in, “Yeah, you done left and had like 10 kids.”
“A whole baseball team,” the comedian joked. “Like, ‘No, you can’t come back home.’”
Nick Cannon, a proud father of ten (plus 13-year-old twins with ex-wife Carey), is embracing his role as a dad with remarkable grace and honesty.
Despite his extensive family, Cannon emphasizes that the mothers of his children all get along “amazing,” though he never expected them to.
“I don’t expect them to,” Cannon shared, shedding light on his approach. “I think that’s the thing that people might always think that it would be that. But it’s like everybody lives their own life, before me and after me.”
His philosophy? Keeping the peace by focusing on personal lives rather than inter-family dynamics. “So I think that’s how you keep the peace and everybody moving, like everybody worried about themselves and not worried about what someone else is.”
Nick Cannon calls ex a 'high frequency' person
Shifting to his twins, Moroccan “Roc” and Monroe “Roe,” Cannon expressed a touch of nostalgia. “We gonna be done soon. We got teenagers now. I’m about to shed a tear. It’s happening too fast.”
Cannon also revealed that Carey has no issues with his growing family. “She’s like, ‘As long as you don’t bring none of that bulls**t to the Manor of Carey,’” he chuckled on Revolt’s 'The Jason Lee Show' podcast.
“She lives in her own world, nothing can infiltrate that stuff,” he added. “When we talk daily, she’s just checking on my spirit.”
Describing his ex as a “high frequency” person, Cannon praised the Grammy-winning singer for her consistent support and encouragement.
He shared with podcast host Lee that she frequently checks in with him, asking, “You aight? You good? How you doing? You handling it all?” He added that she emphasizes staying aligned and on the same page daily.
Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey's relationship in a nutshell
The ex-couple first met at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards, where Nick Cannon presented Mariah Carey with an award.
Their whirlwind romance began after Cannon starred in Carey's 'Bye Bye' music video in 2008, leading to a secret wedding in the Bahamas that April.
The couple welcomed fraternal twins, Moroccan and Monroe, in 2011. However, by 2014, they had separated, and their divorce was finalized in 2016.

Cannon has similarly spoken fondly of Carey, referring to her as the "love of his life."
Mariah Carey is currently single following her split from Bryan Tanaka. The couple, who had been together for seven years, confirmed their amicable separation on December 26, 2023.
On the other hand, Nick Cannon is currently not in a romantic relationship.
