LASVEGAS, NEVADA: Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter surprised fans with a noticeably slimmer appearance in a new social media post this week.
The 45-year-old pop star shared a selfie from Las Vegas that quickly sparked speculation about how he may have lost weight.

Carter’s followers were quick to comment on the change, with some wondering if the singer might be taking Ozempic.
"Soaking up some Vegas heat before today’s rehearsals," Carter captioned the bright outdoor shot.
The post, shared to his social media followers, showed Carter appearing much thinner than usual, prompting strong reactions online.
Although he hasn’t posted any gym-related content since March 2024, Carter has previously said he stays fit through dancing, playing baseball, and golfing.
The eight-time Grammy nominee, who once weighed 240 pounds, has previously been candid about his fitness efforts.
Nick Carter once lost 65 pounds after sobriety
Carter’s weight journey has been part of his public life for years. In 2021, he posted, "Just gotta get rid of this belly that I've had since I was a teenager."
A year later, in 2022, he shared that he was "20 pounds down [with] 10 more to go" in an effort to shed his "dad bod."
He added, "I'm nowhere near where I would like to be. But I'm closer to my goal to being back in shape before our upcoming residency in Vegas."
Back in 2009, Carter dropped 65 pounds after getting sober, following a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy from a decade of drug and alcohol use as per Daily Mail.
Notably, Carter had to face heartbreaking loss of three siblings. His brother Aaron Carter died in 2022, sister Leslie Carter in 2012, and sister BJ Carter died in 2023.

On the personal front, Carter shares three children — Odin, 9; Saoirse, 5; and Pearl, 4 — with his wife of 11 years, Lauren Kitt Carter, the founder of Crypto Cafe.

The selfie led to a flood of concerned comments from fans, many expressing worry over his noticeably thinner build.

Another added, "He looks very unhealthy, hope he is okay!" while someone else urged, "You're too thin! You have to eat a little more! To stay looking so handsome!!!!"
One user speculated, "Maybe he took some ozempic 😢" as others expressed heartfelt concern.
"Hey Nick, you look great as always, but please don't overdo it with your fitness or whatever you do to look like that..We still need you, okay?😊❤️," said another.
Some also suggested he consider a change: "Gain some weight."
