Nicole Scherizenger impresses fans with her 'perfect Norma Desmond' in 'Sunset Boulevard' broadway
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Nicole Scherzinger is receiving praises from all corners after she played the legendary diva Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Broadway ‘Sunset Boulevard.’
The ‘X-Factor’ judge plays the character of a star who is no more at the prime of her career. The iconic role has been played by Starwaltz such as Glenn Close, Betty Buckley, and Patti LuPone.
Lloyd Webber's 'Bad Cinderella' fizzled
Lloyd was in New York with his Tony-nominated revival of ‘A Doll’s House.’ The latest Broadway from the director will mark his return after the failure of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ and the disastrously received and short-lived ‘Bad Cinderella.’

It was the 1994 Broadway production of ‘Sunset Boulevard’ that won the Tony for best musical. However, the attention was all stolen by a lawsuit between LuPone and Lloyd Webber.
It made a comeback with CLose playing the character in 2017 as the team went for a lowkey performance. It features books and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton.

Cast members join Nicole Scherzinger in London
Scherzinger will be joined by some true performers in London, including Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, the cynical screenwriter, Grace Hodgett-Young as Betty Schaefer, the object of Joe’s affections; and Olivier Award-winner David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling, the loyal butler of Desmond.
As per producers, the date for the show’s premiere and the theater hosting the Broadway with other cast members will be shared soon.
Lloyd Webber’s 'Sunset Boulevard' score will comprise of his hits such as anthems 'With One Look,' and 'As if We Never Said Goodbye', as per Variety.
'Sunset Boulevard' is returning under the banner of The Jamie Lloyd Company, Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals, and Gavin Kalin Productions by arrangement with The Really Useful Group Ltd. Further, based on the original Paramount film by Wilder.
