DUBLIN, IRELAND: Comedian Nikki Glaser has demanded that her parents provide an apology for their misinterpretation of Julia Roberts' encounter with Travis Kelce at Taylor Swift's performance on Sunday, June 30.

The 40-year-old comedian wrote, "My parents are going to issue an apology soon," as the caption for a since-expired Instagram Story regarding her parents' comments on Tuesday, July 2.

Nikki's parents—mom Julie and dad Edward—stirred an uproar when they saw the viral clip of Roberts, 56, touching 34-year-old Kelce's chest tenderly during a conversation.

Julie said, "She's so gross," and found it "weird" that the 'Pretty Woman' actress was "itching" the athlete's chest. In agreement, Edward said that Kelce was "trying to get away" from Roberts.

"She's trying to French kiss him right now! Just kidding. She would," Julie said of Roberts, per Daily Mail.

However, the comedian's mother later acknowledged that her word choice was inappropriate. Julie apologized, saying she "should've said something different than the word gross" on her daughter Nikki's account.

"It's not a nice word. … So, I'm issuing an apology right now for using the word — but I think it was really weird," Julie said.

Julie further clarified that she "meant to say just weird, not [gross] and weird," but her husband Edward jokingly said it was "too late" to repent because their contentious response had already garnered media attention.

Julia Roberts and Travis Kelce attend Taylor Swift's Dublin Eras Tour concert

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end appeared to have stunned Swift by traveling to Ireland just after his teammate Clyde Edwards-Hilaire's wedding in California.

Roberts, along with Stevie Nicks and other celebrities, attended the 'Cruel Summer' singer's tour stop in Dublin on Sunday, June 30.

During the event, Roberts and Kelce were spotted becoming friendly in the VIP area and sharing a nice-looking embrace. Fans became quite curious, speculating as to whether the exchange meant future developments.

The Oscar winner merely expressed her happiness for him and Swift to the Super Bowl champion in the social media video featuring Roberts and Kelce.

Roberts was probably gushing over Kelce and his romance with the pop sensation, but a few Swifties expressed disapproval over the "uncomfortable" encounter.

On the other hand, someone claimed to have lipread Roberts' words to Kelce, which were "I'm so happy for you guys". This made others wonder if an engagement was imminent, per Irish Mirror.

Meanwhile, Nikki was at the Dublin performance with her parents.

Putting the controversy aside, the trio enjoyed themselves at the performance. This was Nikki's 13th Eras gig.
