WASHINGTON, DC: Former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley stated on Sunday, September 8, that Ohio Senator JD Vance's remarks regarding women without children are "not helpful" in the context of his and former president Donald Trump's efforts to win back the White House for the Republican Party.

During an interview on CBS' 'Face the Nation' on Sunday, moderator Margaret Brennan questioned Haley regarding remarks made by Vance in 2021, where the GOP vice-presidential nominee criticized American Teachers Union president Randi Weingarten.

“It is not helpful to talk about whether women have children or whether they don’t,” Nikki Haley told Brennan. “I have said that and I will continue to say to Republicans, stop it, that’s not helpful.”

"Americans are smart, they don't need all this other noise to distract them, they just want to know how you're going to help them," she added.

Vance, known for his controversial remark calling Kamala Harris and other childless women "a bunch of childless cat ladies miserable at their own lives," faced criticism again when a 2021 video clip resurfaced. In the clip, he claimed that professional women who prioritize their careers over having children are choosing "a path to misery."

Trump's running mate has claimed that teachers without children "really disorient" and "really disturb" him, and he has reportedly used terms like "sociopath" and "psychotic" to describe people without children, Daily Beast reported.

While Haley had concerns with Vance's rhetoric, she emphasized her focus on "substance" rather than "style." According to her, “making housing more affordable, immigration, national security, that’s the substance.”

The former United Nations ambassador, who has conceded that she does not fully align with Trump's methods or demeanor, gave her endorsement to the Republican candidate in July. Despite her declaration on CBS that "he knows I'm on standby," Haley has not been enlisted by the former president for his campaign efforts.

Nikki Haley mocked as she urged JD Vance to focus on policy

Supporters of JD Vance took to social media to criticize Nikki Haley after she called him out for his "childless ladies" remarks. One person wrote, "This woman is a leftist in a conservative costume.."

Another Vance supporter said, "It was one off the cuff comment said out of frustration years ago. Get over it. JD changed his mind like Kamala has on a dozen things. I’m sure there was more to what Nikki Haley said but this is what serves your purpose."

One individual remarked, "She must’ve found out. She’s not getting the cabinet seat."

Another added, "I almost feel sorry for Nikki Haley, for humiliating herself doing press by pretending she supports Donald Trump and giving him and JD Vance ‘advice’. The smarter thing would’ve been to just lay low until after the election but her ambitions got the best of her . Sad really."

"Almost everything that comes out her mouth is a lie or extremely disingenuous. Haley will say anything she thinks will advance her own agenda," one netizen claimed.

Another stated, "She has no backbone or courage! Lost all respect for her!!"

One person asked, "Who are you surveying? Come on that is just propaganda !!! Be honest"
