Nina Dobrev saved by 'Vampire Diaries' co-stars as falling backdrop nearly crushes her on stage
COVINGTON, GEORGIA: Nina Dobrev, famed for her portrayal of Elena Gilbert in 'The Vampire Diaries', narrowly avoided an accident at a live event, thanks to the swift intervention of her former co-stars, Candice King and Kat Graham.

Candice King and Kat Graham rush to save Nina Dobrev from falling backdrop
Before anyone could react, Candice King and Kat Graham sprang into action. They swiftly took hold of the falling backdrop, stopping it mere inches from Nina Dobrev, averting a potentially disastrous accident.
As King moved to protect Dobrev, she inadvertently saved herself when the board that had been looming behind her started to fall as well.
Meanwhile, Graham, 35, was on cleanup duty and managed to catch both boards, preventing them from falling to the ground and possibly injuring the audience members, as per Metro.
"Not today, not today!" Graham declared, having resolved the situation. She then joked that she didn't want to see any "Bonnie saves the day memes."
In 'The Vampire Diaries', Bonnie Bennett is portrayed by Graham, Elena is played by Dobrev, and Caroline is brought to life by King.
Nina Dobrev explains why she removed her jacket
As the sequence of events unfolded, Nina Dobrev was seen removing her jacket. Later, she clarified that her decision stemmed from the belief that the initial panic had been caused by a completely different reason.
"I thought it was a spider… I was taking my jacket off like ahhh," she told the crowd.
MacKenzie praised the superwomen for "moving so fast," before adding. "I’m too old for this s**t." "You guys, the show is still trying to kill us!" King quipped.
The event took place in Covington, Georgia, which served as the backdrop for the fictional town of Mystic Falls in 'The Vampire Diaries', which aired from 2009 to 2017.
