Internet mocks Trump as he endorses GOP Rep Jodey Arrington who called Jan 6 rioters 'criminals'

WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump endorsed Republican Congressman Jodey Arrington for his 2024 re-election campaign to the House of Representatives, reported liberal news network Meidas Touch.
The Texas lawmaker in 2021, while defending Trump's second impeachment for inciting the insurrection on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, called the rioters “criminals."
According to a report by Texas's commercial AM radio station KFYO, Arrington at the time stated, "The criminals who stormed the Capitol that day acted of their own volition – they are responsible for their actions."

Trump, who is indicted over allegedly instigating the January 6 attack, has already established his position as the Republican frontrunner and will likely be the party nominee to face President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.
Trump praises Jodey Arrington
Trump announced his endorsement of Arrington through a Truth Social post on Tuesday, January 30.

"Congressman Jodey Arrington is doing a great job representing Texas’ 19th Congressional District," the former President said.
Trump also highlighted the Texas Congressman's achievement as the House Budget Committee's Chairman, which includes cutting wasteful spending, growing the economy, lowering taxes, securing the border, supporting the military and vets, and protecting and defending the Second Amendment.
"Jodey has been there for me, and he has my Complete and Total Endorsement!" the GOP frontrunner concluded.

Arrington was among the Republican lawmakers who supported Trump by opposing the 2020 electoral vote count upholding the claim that the election was "not conducted in an equitable and accurate manner," says his website.
Trump, looking forward to a second term in the White House, recently labeled the imprisoned January 6 rioters as 'hostages'.
He is also claiming an 'absolute presidential immunity' to protect himself from the criminal charges ahead of the November election.
Internet reacts to Trump's endorsement
Internet mocked the Republican frontrunner's endorsement of Arrington, labeling both of them as "hypocrites."
One user wrote, "Another death knell."
Another user remarked, "They are all full of it! They care nothing about the constitution, demoracy or integrity. It's all about power, demanded over others and supremacy for Trump and these Republicans! It's just a sad time in America."
