RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA: President Joe Biden slammed Donald Trump, saying his predecessor "doesn't know what he's talking about" when it comes to the economy of the United States, reported The Hill.

On Thursday, January 18, while speaking in Raleigh, North Carolina, Biden responded to the Republican frontrunner's expectation that the US economy would crash in the next 12 months before he potentially assumes office in January 2025

"Some of the things he [Trump] says — well, I'm not getting started. But look, frankly, to put it very politely, he doesn't know what he's talking about," the incumbent stated.

With Biden being the likely Democratic nominee, Trump's campaign has unleashed criticisms ahead of his potential Republican nomination.

Following the massive win in the Iowa caucus, the former president is likely to face his successor for a second time in November.

Biden says Trump has turned into Hoover

Pushing his economic message in North Carolina, Biden asked, "Did you hear he wants to see the stock market crash?"

Underscoring the nation's economy is performing well, the president added, "He's [Trump] acknowledging that, we're doing pretty damn well economically, and we're getting better. He wants to see the stock market crash. You know why? He doesn't want to be the next Herbert Hoover."

"He's already Hoover. He's the only president to be president for four years and lose jobs not gaining jobs," Biden stated.

The president was pointing at Trump's statement that he did not wish to be like Hoover, the US president during the 1929 Great Depression.

Despite his age, Biden decided to run against the former president due to the country's current political climate. In a recent radio interview, the incumbent called his potential presidential rival the "most anti-democratic" president the nation ever had.
