'Not everyone can be a parent': Woman blasted for denying warm clothes to shivering son clad only in a diaper

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: A video that has been rapidly circulating on the social media platform, X, formally known as Twitter, has sparked public outrage.

The footage reportedly shows a small boy, clad only in a diaper, shivering uncontrollably as his mother refuses to provide him with warm clothes.

An empathetic shopper witnessing the scene couldn't stand by and watch. They promptly picked up a pair of clothes and dressed the freezing child.

The incident has led to a wave of criticism directed at the mother, with many commenting that it's a sad day when a "random shopper cares more" about a child than his own mother. 

Police reportedly called after young boy is left shivering in cold

Recently, social media influencer Collin Rugg posted a distressing video showing a small boy, clad only in a diaper, shivering uncontrollably while seated in a shopping cart.

The police were reportedly called amid the chaos. Onlookers can be heard in the background, labeling the mother as "crazy."

One shocked shopper was even overheard exclaiming, 'What the hell, somebody call the police on her!'"

Fortunately, a compassionate shopper, moved by the boy's plight, took it upon themselves to fetch a pair of clothes for him.

"He came in here without that jacket on," a voice can be heard saying in the video.

The video further reveals the mother nonchalantly walking with the cart, even performing actions akin to a twerk, seemingly oblivious to the concerns of the people around her.

The woman who captured the incident on video revealed that "the police were called" after onlookers noticed the boy shivering. 

"Yes, we did call the police. I mean, why wouldn't we? Why wouldn't we?" Tik Tok user Fee Nicole stated as per Rugg's post.

"When you see a child that's being neglected, don't have on any clothes, just a diaper, no shoes, no socks, no shirt, no nothing. So why wouldn't we call the police?"

Public outrage over mother's indifferent attitude

The Internet is slamming the mother calling her action towards the trembling child "awfull."

One outraged person tweeted, "Some people do not deserve the honor of being a parent."

"Just sad Have no words other than I hope that kid finds a family who loves and cares for him. That “mom” is deserves jail time," reacted another.

Rugg responded to a tweet and said, "The woman who filmed the video says she heard he is now with his grandmother. Not confirmed. I hope this is the case."

One person noted, "This is awful and people wonder why we have children that grow up to be terrible humans."

"Anyone can have a child, but not everyone can be a parent." stated another.

"What a terrible mother. Throws frozen food on his freezing body. The boy did not move? He’s been severely abused too afraid to have basic normal reactions. This is sickening!" claimed another.

One furious user wrote, "She's dressed nicely. You should always dress your children better than you dress. She looks like she's not shivering. This is neglect. That poor baby. Baby comes first."

"She’s just sitting there on her phone also. She hates her kid and she should let another family raise him give him a chance at life. Cause she ain’t it. That’s child abuse," reacted another.

Others hailed the shopper who helped the boy with one user saying, "Bless that woman for getting him some clothes. This just boils my blood as a parent."
