NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: NSYNC recently made waves by snagging a 2024 Video Music Awards (VMA) nomination for Best Group, a remarkable feat considering they’ve been inactive for over two decades.

This resurgence was sparked by the band’s classic hit 'Bye Bye Bye' being featured in the blockbuster film 'Deadpool & Wolverine,' which brought the beloved boy band roaring back into the spotlight.

Led by Justin Timberlake, NSYNC has been trending ever since 'Deadpool & Wolverine's release, joining a prestigious list of nominees that includes Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, NCT DREAM, NewJeans, SEVENTEEN, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, and Twenty One Pilots.

NSYNC was one of the best boys bands of the late '90s. They went on to receive eight Grammy nominations, and win three American Music Awards, five Billboard Music Awards, and seven MTV Video Music Awards. But after the global success of their 2001 album 'Celebrity', the band took an unlikely hiatus.

As their hiatus stretched on well past the intended break, fans began to wonder if the band was ever coming back. Finally in 2004, Justin officially left the band and the group parted ways.

'Deadpool & Wolverine', starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, shattered box office records, raking in a staggering $205 million domestically in its opening weekend and ultimately crossing the $1 billion mark worldwide.

The film's success not only boosted the popularity of several songs from its soundtrack but also catapulted NSYNC, featuring Justin, JC, Joey, Lance, and Chris, back to the forefront of pop culture.

In one of the film’s standout moments, Deadpool is seen dancing to 'Bye Bye Bye' during an action-packed sequence in the opening credits, setting the tone for the film and reintroducing the iconic '90s boy band to a whole new generation of fans.

MTV has unveiled the four social categories for the 2024 Video Music Awards, and fans have the power to decide the winners!

This year’s categories include Song of Summer, presented by Hilton, Best Group, and two exciting new additions: VMAs Most Iconic Performance and Best Trending Video.

Taylor Swift maintains her lead as the year’s top nominee (12), followed closely by Post Malone (11), Eminem (eight), Ariana Grande, Megan Thee Stallion, Sabrina Carpenter and SZA (seven each); Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, GloRilla, LISA, Olivia Rodrigo and Teddy Swims (four each).

The 2024 MTV VMAs are set to air live on Wednesday, September 11, from New York’s UBS Arena. Megan Thee Stallion is set to host the show.

The VMA nomination announcement set social media abuzz, with fans flocking to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the group's unexpected return.

Fans highlighted the band's enduring relevance, proving that even after two decades, NSYNC’s star power hasn’t faded.
