KALLANG, SINGAPORE: Social media users didn't hold back their opinions and slammed American investor Ray Dalio when he suggested that pop icon Taylor Swift should run for president after attending her 'The Eras Tour' concert in Singapore.

Previously, Swift made a post on Instagram encouraging her huge following to vote on Super Tuesday, which drew some humorous comments, including a playful remark from 'The Tonight Show' host Jimmy Fallon about her civic engagement.

Swift's fans recently voiced concern after a video of her battling a cold and coughing during her concert in Singapore circulated online. Many fans expressed worry that she might be pushing herself too hard and in need of some rest.

Ray Dalio wants Taylor Swift to become US President

According to the New York Post, Dalio shared a selfie from Swift's 'Eras Tour' in Singapore on Instagram, where he enthusiastically endorsed the 'Lover' singer for US President.

In his caption, Dalio wrote, "@taylorswift for President! I just saw her at her concert in Singapore and realized that she can bring together Americans and people in most countries much better than either of the candidates and that bringing people together is the most important thing."

He continued, "Watching this concert with people from all over the world made me and them feel good and connected and reminded me how powerful that universal culture is. Wouldn’t it be great if we had two candidates who could lead that culture and make smart leadership decisions too?"

Dalio's extensive praise of Swift was accompanied by a close-up selfie of himself at the show, bathed in pink lighting, with the singer playing her guitar in the background, as per the New York Post.

The New York Post also noted that Coinbase staffer Will Reynoir jokingly commented, "Every parent using a smartphone for the first time..."
