WASHINGTON, DC: New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu recently stirred controversy by attributing President Joe Biden's faltering debate performance to the Democratic Party's leadership.

In an interview with NewsNation Now, Sununu pointed fingers at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for its strategic decisions, arguing that these choices have set Biden up for failure, as per The Hill.

During his conversation with host Connell McShane, Sununu was explicit in his critique of the DNC's early cycle decision to bypass the traditional New Hampshire primary in favor of South Carolina. This shift, according to Sununu, is a key factor behind Biden’s lackluster showing.

"Let’s remember this is not Joe Biden’s fault. This is the Democrat elite that said we’re going to try to skip the New Hampshire first-in-the-nation primary, and we’re going to coronate Joe Biden when we know he has a problem," Sununu stated.

Sununu’s remarks underscore a broader sentiment among New Hampshire politicians who were displeased with Biden's absence from their primary ballot. Although Biden was declared the winner through a write-in campaign, the state awarded him no delegates, reflecting local dissatisfaction.

In his critique, Sununu emphasized the importance of a transparent primary process. "They had their chance, right, and this is what you get when they try to basically play games instead of let a good primary process play out," he asserted.

Sununu did not limit his remarks to Biden and the DNC. He also lauded former President Donald Trump’s performance during the debate in Atlanta, describing Trump as the "adult in the room" compared to Biden’s "horrible" performance.

"He showed competence. He did exactly what he had to do last night, not get too blowhardy," Sununu commented. His praise for Trump marks a notable shift given his previous support for former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, who exited the race in March, leaving Trump as the GOP frontrunner.

Sununu's remarks come on the heels of widespread Democratic panic following Biden’s debate performance, which many viewed as a sign of his diminishing political viability. Calls within the party for Biden to step down and allow for an open convention have intensified, though Biden and his campaign have dismissed these notions.
