'What a dream come true': Fans joke as Travis Kelce declares he'll marry Katy Perry and kiss Taylor Swift in resurfaced clip

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: A 2016 interview of Travis Kelce playing the 'Kiss, Marry, Kill' game has resurfaced online — and his current girlfriend, was not his first choice for a potential bride.

Years before Kelce traveled the world to assist Swift during her global tour in Sydney, Australia, he was presented with the option to choose between Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande in a make-believe game that translates to "marry, kiss, or kill."

Kelce eventually decides to kiss Swift and marry Perry after grudgingly deciding to kill Grande. He had no idea that he would be dating the 'Blank Space' singer in seven years.

Travis Kelce picked Katy Perry for marriage and Taylor Swift for kissing

The pop sensation Swift and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end began dating in the summer of 2023. The couple has since flown all over the world to support one another at her Eras Tour stop and the quarterback's Super Bowl, elevating their love to new heights.

While their relationship is growing stronger, the Super Bowl champion seemed to choose a different pop princess in 2016 over his 14-time Grammy Award-winning girlfriend.

Kelce was the star of the reality dating show 'Catching Kelce' when he spoke with AfterBuzz TV in 2016. He was invited to play the game for some lighthearted entertainment as his love life had been a popular topic of conversation.

Kelce stated, "Damn, that's messed up, I don't want to kill any of them," to which the host, encouragingly, replied, "It's just a game!"

Kelce hesitated before finally saying that he would "kill" Grande, but he made sure to say that he still thought she was fantastic. It was then up to Kelce to decide between Swift and Perry for his fictional wife and fling.

"Taylor Swift would be the kiss. Katy Perry would be the marry," the football star went on.

Considering the animosity between the two singers from 2016, the tight end's decision is quite odd. He is genuinely in love with Swift right now and even ran with Perry in the Eras Tour VIP tent.

In Accor Stadium event footage, Perry could be seen singing and dancing to Swift's performance of 'Bad Blood.' Conversely, Kelce engaged with fans by trading friendship bracelets and more while attending the show from a VIP tent, per Complex.

Katy Perry and Taylor Swift put their differences aside

There's no denying that Swift and Perry had a very bad breakdown, with Swift writing her 2015 song 'Bad Blood' alluding to their dispute.

Swift and Perry have been at odds for more than ten years, starting when the 'American Idol' judge attempted to "sabotage an entire arena tour" by hiring Swift's backup dancers, per Daily Mail.

Perry was spotted dancing to the '1989' single on Friday, February 23, suggesting that the two erstwhile rivals have moved past their disagreement.

The 'Dark House' singer once had the camera flipped from the stage to herself while belting out 'Bad Blood.' In an official sign that their feud was over, Perry and Swift even posted pictures of one another on Instagram following the performance.

While fans of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce follow every piece of news and gossip about them, since the old clip resurfaced at this time, some took to social media to make their thoughts known.

One fan quipped, "When you pick marry it’s like a safe thing when you pick kiss that’s your spicy choice lol."

On Facebook, fans enjoyed having fun at Travis' expense as one reader joked, "Gonna be pretty awkward next time they run into Ariana, I bet."

One eagle-eyed fan seemed to think Travis was true to his word as she described what she thought happened at the singer's current tour in Sydney where interestingly Katy Perry was also in attendance.

The fan claimed, "Too funny, if you watch the video of him in the VIP booth in Sydney at Eras concert, he was right next to Katy Perry. He was dancing and Katy Perry was looking right at him, and he didn’t even look at her once he was so focused on Taylor."
