The 'Vampire' singer fell through an open section of the stage which appeared like a hole while performing in Melbourne, Australia. The incident brought an unexpected twist to her performance.

Reflecting on the accident, Olivia Rodrigo shared her experience of a brief hospital visit afterward which turned into a meaningful moment for her.

During her October 29 appearance on 'The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon', Rodrigo recounted her reaction to the unexpected fall, describing it as "really scary."
She added that watching the video back felt "pretty terrifying," but noted her commitment to continuing the show despite the mishap.
"The show must go on, that's show business baby," said the 21-year-old performer.
Maintaining a positive outlook on the experience, Rodrigo later reflected that the fall ultimately held a deeper meaning.
"I'm kinda happy it happened in hindsight," she shared, explaining how thoughts of her family and Filipino heritage were on her mind at the time of the fall.
Olivia Rodrigo connects with family heritage after incident
Olivia Rodrigo mentioned that she had to visit hospital and her brief hospital visit there offered an unexpected link to her heritage.
"I went to the hospital after—nothing happened, they just wanted to make sure I didn’t have a concussion," she said.
Rodrigo noted that she met a nurse who shared the same name as her late grandfather at the hospital.
"He was a Filipino man with the same name as my grandpa who just passed away a few months ago," Rodrigo recalled.
"So, I was like, ‘Wow, that was him looking after me and making sure I didn’t get hurt,’” she added.
Rodrigo was performing on the Melbourne stage when the incident happened. Upbeat, she joked with the crowd right after the fall, saying, "Oh my God, that was fun," and added, "I'm okay!" before climbing out and lightheartedly remarking, "Sometimes there’s just a hole in the stage. That’s alright."

Wrapping up her tour performances for the year, Olivia Rodrigo reflected on one of her most significant tour memories.
"I just played my biggest show in the Philippines," Rodrigo told E! News at the October 25 premiere of her concert film 'Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour'.
For the first time, she performed in her family’s homeland which she described as a highlight of her career and a personal milestone.
"I’m of Filipino heritage, and I’ve never been able to go," she said. "That was such a special moment in my career, but also to me as an individual—it meant so much to be accepted by that community," she shared.
