ASHBURN, VIRGINIA: Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) is facing backlash for suspending two high school boys who dared to say they were uncomfortable with a female student waltzing into the boys’ locker room and recording a video.

The district reportedly opened an investigation into three male students who attend Stone Bridge High School months ago after they complained about the girl’s presence. Now, two of them are paying the price.

According to WJLA, the female student (who identifies as male) entered the locker room multiple times and even filmed inside to capture “the reaction of male students.”

Loudoun County Public Schools accused of weaponizing Title IX

Virginia’s Republican Attorney General Jason Miyares isn’t having it.

“Loudoun County Public Schools weaponized Title IX to punish male students for expressing discomfort at being forced to share a locker room with a female student,” Miyares told the Daily Caller. “This suspension is completely unjustified and tramples their constitutional rights. My Office is monitoring the situation.”

WJLA reports the boys are being slapped with charges of sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination for their complaints. They’ll each serve a 10-day suspension, have to sit down with administrators to create a corrective action plan, and face a no-contact order with the girl. This will effectively bar them from sharing classes.

One of the boys has reportedly left the state with his family.

When asked for comment, LCPS hid behind student privacy laws and declined.

Parents speak out about suspension

Parents of the boys are livid.

“I would say the first reaction was some anger, because we're just really concerned with all this stuff,” parent Seth Wolfe told 7News. “[We’re] saddened by the decision-making process and how that went.”

Renae Smith, mother of the other student, said she was “absolutely floored that they came back and branded my son responsible for sexual harassment and sex based discrimination with no solid evidence whatsoever. We're talking about scarring him for life by a biased process that's supposed to protect fairness, but it's shocking. It's wrong, and it should terrify every single parent.”

Both parents accused LCPS of sending a disturbing message.

“They're going to have to follow what Loudoun County says, what they believe is right, and what goes against other people's beliefs, or what we believe is right,” Wolfe said.

“What they're doing to our children is just despicable,” Smith added.

Netizens rage over Loudoun County Public Schools suspending boys

The latest development out of Loudon County immediately set off a backlash on social media.

"The Northern VA schools are completely out of control. Louden and Fairfax are in a contest to see who can be the most radical," one posted on X (formerly Twitter).

"Has SHE been suspended for filming in the boys locker room?" another asked.

"Sounds like the entire school administration needs to be fired immediately," someone else raged.

"It's actually illegal to film people inside of a locker room. Especially if the people are minors Why do so many trans people feel like they operate above the law?" a tweet read.

"THIS IS SO DUMB. We need to do away with public schools I guess. There is no reasonable thinking left and our children are at risk!" another insisted.

Education Department has already found LCPS in violation of civil rights law

If this sounds familiar, it’s because Loudoun County has been here before.

The district has stood by its gender identity policy, which allows students to use facilities that align with their chosen identity, even after the Trump administration threatened to pull funding.

The Department of Education already found LCPS in violation of civil rights law.

The controversy also caught the eye of Miyares and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin back in June, and he blasted the district for a “disturbing misuse of authority” and for targeting the boys unfairly.

It's worth noting that Loudoun County previously made national headlines in 2021 after officials allegedly tried to cover up a sexual assault in a girls’ bathroom by a male student who identified as transgender. That incident triggered mass protests and student walkouts.
