Outrage as Shakira storms off stage mid-performance following fan's 'truly disappointing behavior'
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Shakira was compelled to abruptly end her performance at a Miami club after someone in the audience tried to "film up her dress" making the singer feel unsafe.
The Colombian singer, 47, reportedly noticed that some people in the crowd were pointing their cameras in inappropriate directions when she was performing to celebrate the release of her new single, 'Soltera'.

Shakira storms off stage following fans' attempt to inappropriately film her
In a viral YouTube video, the 'Hips Don't Lie' singer was seen swaying to her newest hit, 'Soltera' while exhibiting her distinctive dance talents at the LIV Miami arena.
Shakira paused and turned to face an audience member in the middle of her dance. She pulled her skirt down and gestured to a person in the crowd in front of her as if to order someone to stop doing something.
Shakira can be seen in the video pointing to her eyes, seemingly saying "up here." She made another attempt at dancing, but a few moments later, she appeared upset with the person's behavior and swiftly left the stage, per Daily Mail.
Once Shakira left the stage, she was greeted by security and fans in the VIP area. Shakira celebrated at the sold-out venue in the US surrounded by a line-up of celebrities that included model Winnie Harlow, YouTuber and actor Lele Pons, Brazilian diva Anitta, and singer Danna Paola, as per LADbible.
In the US, laws regarding upskirting vary from state to state and, in Florida, it is regarded as voyeurism.
Law firm Robert David Malove states that it is illegal to secretly film or take pictures of an individual "in an intimate state for reasons of personal interest or sexual gratification."
It states: "Personal interest could include amusement, entertainment, profit, or degradation of the victim. If your voyeurism offense included a phone, camera, or another imaging device to record the victim's private areas, you would face enhanced criminal penalties."
Internet users outraged over 'gross' action
Social media users began commenting on the viral footage, expressing concerns that the unidentified audience member apparently 'filmed up' Shakira's dress mid-performance.
One X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "Shakira leaves the stage after people were filming under her dress whilst she was dancing to her new single. People are GROSS."
Another user added, "That's truly disappointing behavior. Artists deserve respect and privacy, both on and off stage. It's crucial to ensure a safe environment for everyone."
"That’s just beyond gross. Shakira had every right to walk off, no one should have to deal with that kind of disrespect, especially when she’s just out there performing her music. People need to learn how to act with basic decency!" exclaimed one.
Someone else said, 'Why did they ruin her vibes like that?' and another stated, 'Why do creepy men ruin everything'
Another user wrote, "“Shakira leaves stage as fan appears to ‘film up her dress’ during performance” Artists should feel comfortable and deserves respect while performing."
"It’s wild how some guys can single-handedly turn a great experience into a total cringe-fest with their creepy vibes," chimed in another.
"Shakira cant even enjoy and dance to her OWN song like??" exclaimed one.
