OWENN says opening for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour was 'just surreal', reveals he was mesmerized by fans

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: OWENN opened for Taylor Swift during her Eras Tour and was left in awe just like us.

The singer-songwriter, who started his career as the ‘Love Story’ singer’s background dancer soon shot to fame.

Talking to People on Friday, December 8, the ‘LUV’ crooner opened up about how he was mesmerized by fans pouring in after one of the rehearsals. “I think the first soundcheck, I was like, ‘Please pinch me. This can’t be real. I think it’s always that moment,” OWENN shared. “And then the stadium fills up and the music — it’s just surreal," he added.

The artist talked about his next project, EP’ Changes,’ which is a “rock/R7B-type. You know, I guess we’re going to have to see and find out! But I just hope that everybody is watching and willing, you know?” said the singer.

"Obviously, accomplishing anything that you try that's new is a heavy feat," he told Z100, on the works he'd put behind the doors. "This is my last show of the year ... I'm closing it out with y'all!"

OWENN previously mentioned how Taylor herself called Republic Records to get him work. “She actually contacted the head of Republic herself on my behalf, which was kind of crazy,” he shared.

Taylor Swift helped OWENN land his first record deal

The 43-year-old first revealed on his Instagram in November 2022 on being part of the Eras Tour. “Honestly I have no words and I can’t believe I’m announcing this… I’m so blessed and grateful for this opportunity,” he wrote in a post.

“Thank you @taylorswift a million times over!!! Come see me opening for T on ‘Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour’ next year! Can’t wait to perform for you guys and be a part of this greatness!! This is truly a dream," OWENN continued.

“Thank you everyone for all the support.. I’m still processing! I Can’t wait to jam with you all at the shows and share more music with you SOON! 🌹🌹♥️♥️ #TSTheErasTour.”

OWENN was joined by other artists, including Paramore, Haim, and Sabrina Carpenter during the Eras Tour's leg in August.

Taylor Swift's 'The Eras Tour' is projected to cross $1 billion in revenue just by selling tickets, according to Pollstar Magazine.

It is also projected that it will finish the US leg with $591 million, and has already surpassed the former all-time female record of Madonna's 'Sticky & Sweet Tour' which earned $407 million in 2008–2009, reports MEAWW.
