WASHINGTON, DC: Attorney General Pam Bondi intensely criticized "progressive left idiots," accusing them of spreading hatred against National Guard troops, as she ordered an investigation into whether their anti-deployment rhetoric incited a recent Thanksgiving eve shooting ambush.

Bondi said the "disgusting" and "despicable" criticism made by liberal politicians and figures from the media against President Trump deploying federal troops to Washington, DC, are the ones to be blamed for any violence that follows.

Pam Bondi slams ‘progressive left idiots’ and criticizes hypocrisy

Pam Bondi came on Fox News' ‘Fox & Friends’ and tore into those on the political left by stating, "It's actually sad what our country has come to with these progressive left idiots who are doing this and saying this about our heroes who are keeping them safe."

She insisted that the constant outrage by liberals against what President Trump had done to protect the nation's capital, including deploying the National Guard, was highly hypocritical, especially since these critics often have their own security details.

The top prosecutor said lawmakers and some news anchors and their guests who have spoken out against the deployment should instead be "praising our men and women in law enforcement."

Probe launched into anti-guard rhetoric following fatal shooting

The Attorney General announced a serious investigation into the language that had been used by critics of the National Guard deployment.

She stated, "What these lawmakers are doing, what some of these news anchors on other networks are doing, what their guests are saying is disgusting, it's despicable."

Bondi next emphasized the seriousness of their investigation, adding, “We’re looking at everything they have said and why they said it and if they encouraged acts of violence.”

This investigation comes after the shooting ambush of two National Guard members, where 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom succumbed to injuries and 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe, who remains hospitalized.

Meanwhile, the 29 year old Suspect Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who was confirmed by the CIA to have worked with an elite counterterrorism unit in Afghanistan, is currently facing multiple counts, including assault with intent to kill.

Bondi vows for justice and defense of Trump's troop deployment

Bondi pledged harsh prosecution for the suspected attacker, vowing to “do everything in our power to seek the death penalty against that monster who should not have been in our country.”

She also defended President Trump's decision to deploy troops to Washington, DC. Meanwhile, Attorney Jeanine Pirro joined in this same argument and dismissed a reporter's question about Democrats claiming the National Guard didn't need to go to D.C. because crime levels did not warrant an emergency response.

Pirro quickly responded, “I don’t even want to talk about whether they should have been there,” adding that “We ought to kiss the ground and thank God that the president said it’s time to bring in more law enforcement” to control the city's violence.

This comes as "lefty politicians" have consistently labeled the deployment of the National Guard in Democrat-run cities as an “authoritarian” move and an “invasion.”
