LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pamela Anderson is feeling “grateful, overwhelmed, and blessed” after receiving her first-ever Golden Globes nomination at the age of 57.

The actress, best known for her roles in 'Baywatch' and 'Home Improvement', earned the nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her role in 'The Last Showgirl' directed by Gia Coppola.

Pamela Anderson, who started her career as a model in 1989, expressed her excitement and gratitude in a heartfelt statement obtained by People.

"I share this beautiful nomination with 'The Last Showgirl' family, my family, and my hard-working companions on this interesting journey," she wrote, adding "It is never too late to dream, to start again, to stay open to possibilities — we are not all so lucky.”

In addition to her nomination, Anderson thanked the film’s production company, Roadside Attractions, and fellow nominee Miley Cyrus, who co-wrote the original song 'Beautiful That Way' from the movie's soundtrack.

Anderson’s role in 'The Last Showgirl' has been widely praised. She plays Shelly, a Las Vegas dancer at a crossroads in her life as her long-running show is coming to an end. As Shelly faces an uncertain future, she works to rebuild her relationship with her estranged daughter.

The Golden Globes nomination places Anderson in a highly competitive category, facing off against Oscar winners Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, Tilda Swinton, and Kate Winslet.

This recognition marks a shift in Anderson’s career, which has previously seen her in more campy roles. Director Gia Coppola, who cast Anderson in 'The Last Showgirl', compared the actress to Marilyn Monroe, calling her “the Marilyn of our time” and noting the depth of her performance in the film.

The film, which also stars Kiernan Shipka, Brenda Song, and Billie Lourd, will hit select theaters on December 13 and will expand in January. The Golden Globe Awards will be held on January 5, 2025.
