LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pamela Anderson garnered attention and praise for going makeup-free in her latest film, 'The Last Showgirl'. However, she apparently didn't intend to carry the same look while attending the 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5.

An insider claimed that the 'Baywatch' alum thought a little makeup would have gone well with her dress, but feared she might face "backlash" after becoming so known for her all-natural looks, according to the Daily Mail.

Pamela Anderson feels she is 'now locked into her no-makeup image'

The 57-year-old actress attended the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton on Sunday night with her 28-year-old son, Brandon Thomas Lee, who she shares with her ex-husband, Tommy Lee.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, a source close to the actress revealed that while Anderson is delighted that she is being applauded for her toned-down looks, there is a part of her that feels like she can't go back to her more dolled-up looks.

"Pamela has gotten so much positive feedback from women all over the world for her natural glow-up. She has become an icon who is now known for baring her all-natural self," they shared.

The insider added, "While Pam recognizes that a little makeup would have gone fabulous with her gown, she also realizes that she cannot do that. She is now locked into her no-makeup image. To do herself up – whether at the awards or anywhere else for that matter – would cause backlash, with people calling her a sell-out."

The source also mentioned that "part of her motivation" to cut back on her glam was because she wanted to "strip away her 'Barb Wire' image and 'Baywatch' personification" and be looked up "as a serious actor."

"Pamela realized her true talent when she played Roxie Hart on Broadway. This was life-changing for her. Never in a million years did she think that she would have been nominated for an award like this," they noted.

At the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, Anderson was nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, but she lost to Fernanda Torres.

Pamela Anderson reflects on her 'unorthodox' career

During a recent interview with SheKnows, Pamela Anderson reflected on her "unorthodox" career. She said, "I didn’t know that I’d be doing a film at this point in my life, so I was just I’m very grateful, and I got to do it in a very unorthodox way. I feel like this is just the beginning of my career now, at 57 years old."

Speaking about Shelly, the character she portrays in Gia Coppola's 'The Last Showgirl', Anderson shared, "I just imagine that Shelly had a similar upbringing as me because of the way she gravitated to being a showgirl" and added that they both "made lemonade out of lemons."

"In a way, I feel like, yes, I’ve had a lot of opportunities in television but I always felt like I could do more. And so this was really exciting for me to kind of sink my teeth into and to apply all those things I’ve learned along the way," the 'Raw Justice' star added.

She further expressed, "But yeah, there’s, like I said, many parallels, but that just felt like a jumping-off point in creating Shelly, but it’s just an exciting opportunity. It’s always when you can relate to something or to respond to something so wholeheartedly."
