LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Parents and viewers have criticized Netflix after the children's series 'CoComelon Lane,' featured a boy dancing in a tutu for two gay dads in Season 1, Episode 8.

The controversy follows ongoing debates around the streamer’s LGBTQ+ content, including the animated show 'Dead End: Paranormal Park'. Many, including Elon Musk, have called for subscription cancellations over the content in both series.

Along with 'Cocomelon Lane,' Hamish Steele, the creator of 'Dead End: Paranormal Park' and 'DeadEndia,' and has also faced prior criticism for including transgender themes in a children’s show. However, backlash escalated after screenshots of his now-unavailable expletive-filled post went viral.

He allegedly responded to British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, offering condolences to Charlie Kirk and wrote, "Why the f**k are you even commenting on this, d**khead. You sympathy for any of the families being slaughtered by your weapons but a random nazi gets gets shot and its a public statement. You're such a fucking evil s**t."

'Cocomelon Lane' sparks social media outrage

'Cocomelon Lane' drew the wrath of multiple social media users after the above scene went viral online. It reignited conversation on the inclusion of LGBTQ themes in a children's show.

On X, a user shared a clip from 'Cocomelon Lane', writing, “Oh the propaganda! Why cant they make good, wholesome cartoons like back when we were kids?”

Other users expressed concerns about children’s exposure to LGBTQ+ themes.

One wrote, “Yep. That’s why we don’t do cocomelon. We also don’t do Big Nate and Pete the Cat. Same reasons.”

Another added, “Because Netflix isn’t making kids’ shows anymore, it’s making indoctrination cartoons. CoComelon used to teach ABCs, now it’s teaching drag time.”

One commented, "Cocomelon is not for kids"

Yet another expressed, "Netflix canceled. Save so much money cancelling all this stuff you never watch!"

'Dead End: Paranormal Park' controversy

'Dead End: Paranormal Park' has also drawn criticism after Steele mocked Charlie Kirk’s death online. The show, which features a transgender teen character, Barney, had already faced scrutiny from conservative viewers who argued that the themes were inappropriate for children.

Viral screenshots of Steele’s post intensified calls for accountability, prompting some viewers to cancel their Netflix subscriptions.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk also confirmed that he has canceled his Netflix subscription and also called on others to cancel theirs.

On X, former Department of Energy nuclear scientist, Matt Van Swol, shared a post criticizing Netflix for employing Steele and promoting pro-trans content.

Van Swol wrote, “Just cancelled my Netflix subscription. If you employ someone who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk and makes content that pushes pro-trans content on my kids...you will NEVER get a dime of my money.”

Musk responded succinctly, “Same.”
