PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Former President Donald Trump launched his line of sneaker shoes a day after a New York judge ordered him to pay $355 million in a civil fraud trial, reported CNN.

The Republican frontrunner unveiled the 'Trump Sneakers' at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia on Saturday, February 17. A new website has listed the golden-colored shoes for pre-order at $399 named the 'NEVER SURRENDER HIGH-TOP SNEAKER.'

"This is something I've been talking about for 12 years, 13 years, and I think it's going to be a big success," Trump said announcing the launch.

According to the website, only 1000 pairs of sneakers were available for purchase, and Trump will autograph at least 10 random pairs. It also includes two other versions of sneakers named 'T-Red Wave' and 'POTUS 45' priced at $199 each.

Based on an NBC report, the former President indicated that his new venture is an effort to connect with the younger supporters. "We're going to turn this country around fast. We're going to turn it around. And we're going to remember the young people, and we're going to remember Sneaker Con," he stated.

Donald Trump booed off stage during promotion

Trump's controversial fundraising attempt after the $355 million penalty in New York, the hub of his real estate business, was met with booing based on a Raw Story report.

Some time into his speech, consistent loud booing aimed at the former President was heard. However, without stopping the speech, Trump responded, "A lot of emotion. There's a lot of emotion in this room. Thank you."

"The nice thing is... we have lines... I want to thank Chase and I want to thank Allen. But we have lines going all around the block," he continued, speaking over the interruption.

The ex-President also met with criticism from Biden campaign spokesperson Michael Tyler. "Donald Trump showing up to hawk bootleg Off-Whites is the closest he'll get to any Air Force Ones ever again for the rest of his life," he said.

After the Sneaker Con appearance, Trump left for Michigan to address voters ahead of the GOP primary on February 27 and caucus on March 2.

The golden sneakers have already sold out less than 24 hours after launch.

Internet reacts

Netizens ridiculed Trump for choosing an unconventional way to make financial gains ahead of a crucial 2024 presidential election, along with the multiple legal battles.

One user wrote, "What a pathetic man."

Another user mockingly asked, "Why doesn't he just send Don Jr out to collect bags of cash from foreign countries?"

"Ololololol!!!!! This is so cringe. Next thing you know, Trump will be selling Cameo videos like Ruddi Giuliani and George Santos,"  a third user added.

A fourth response read, "I guess that's one way to raise money for your $355M judgement against you."

"Ok. He's now reached completely pathetic," one user said. Another added, "Perfect comfort for when you are going back to court for all your appeals."
