After the game ended, Mahomes walked out the room on his own but then got on a cart to be taken to medical room for further tests of his ankle.
The Kansas City Chiefs have issued a health update concerning Mahomes.
Following the Week 15 matchup, Chiefs head Andy Reid disclosed extent of Mahomes's injury. The coach reassured fans that the injury was not as severe as initially feared but acknowledged that the quarterback was experiencing pain.
"His right ankle has been hurt," he told the reporters. "It's not broken, but it's sore. He'll get started on the rehab part of it as we go. We'll just have to see how he does down the road here."
Mahomes will reportedly undergo further testing on Monday, December 16, which will allow the Chiefs to determine how long he could be out for.
According to sportswriter Mike Florio, the two-time MVP had a high-ankle sprain, and X-rays showed no damage.
