Paul Simon overcomes challenges with innovative acoustics

Paul Simon’s decision to perform in intimate venues was driven by his hearing challenges, as per People.

According to a press release, the smaller settings provide optimal acoustics, enhancing Simon’s performance experience.

He has partnered with the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss and his production team to develop a unique stage setup, featuring moving monitors that surround him, ensuring he can hear and perform at his best.

In 2023, he addressed the challenge of his hearing loss.

During the post-screening Q&A for the documentary 'In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon' at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2023, Simon addressed the challenges of his hearing loss as he shared, “I haven’t accepted it entirely, but I’m beginning to."
