Photos show Nick Reiner being handcuffed during arrest in parents Rob and Michele’s murder
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Dramatic images capture the scene where Nick Reiner is thrown to the ground and handcuffed following the killing of his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
The 32-year-old was arrested at a metro station in Los Angeles Exposition Park, which is 15 miles away from his parents' Brentwood mansion.
The LAPD robbery homicide division officers, along with US Marshals, who forcibly brought Nick in front of a patrol car, arrested him.
Nick Reiner had earlier checked into The Pierside Santa Monica
According to a report by TMZ, Nick very uncharacteristically checked in at 4 am at The Pierside Santa Monica, only a few hours after he and his parents had a heated altercation at Conan O'Brien's Christmas party.
Staff later found a shower "full of blood" and a trail leading from his bed, as well as a window covered up by bedsheets, according to the Daily Mail.
Witnesses also mentioned that Nick seemed to be "tweaked out" when he showed up and that he didn't appear to have left the place at all.
Just hours earlier, Nick had attended the Christmas party at O'Brien's home with his parents, and reportedly left A-list guests concerned after they got into a "very loud argument."
Nick Reiner is known to have a history of addiction
Nick, who is reported to have a past of d**g addiction and unstable mental health, was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held without bail.
The family had been dealing with the mental illness and d**g abuse of their son Nick, who was going down a spiral, for several months and had told friends, "We have done everything," according to TMZ.
Nick had even gone to rehab when he was barely 15 years old.
"If I wanted to do it my way and not go to the programs they were suggesting, then I had to be homeless," Nick told People, seemingly referring to his family.
"I was homeless in Maine. I was homeless in New Jersey. I was homeless in Texas. I spent nights on the street. I spent weeks on the street. It was not fun," continued Nick.
A year back, Nick's parents expressed regret at how they had dealt with their son's addiction, saying they failed to listen to him and instead relied on medical professionals to get him through it.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) confirmed that it was dispatched to the couple's Brentwood residence at approximately 3.30 pm on Sunday, where they located a man and a woman deceased in the property.
