WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene speculated that Speaker Mike Johnson's sudden policy shift toward Ukraine might be because he is "being blackmailed," Mediaite reported.

In an interview with conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson, released on Wednesday, April 3, the Congresswoman from Georgia lashed out at Johnson over his recent support of new military and financial aid for Ukraine. Earlier this week, the Speaker suggested that the US government seize and sell frozen Russian assets to cover the costs of Ukraine aid.

Greene's ongoing outrage at Johnson continued weeks after she filed a motion to remove him from speakership following the passage of a $1.2 trillion spending package to avert a government shutdown.

What did Marjorie Taylor Greene say about Mike Johnson?

Speaking to Carlson, Greene, a staunch ally of GOP presumptive nominee Donald Trump, said, "Now Mike Johnson has made a complete departure of who he is, and what he stands for, and to the point where people are literally asking, is he blackmailed? What is wrong with him because he's completely disconnected with what we want?"

The ex-Fox News host pressed the Republican lawmaker whether she thought Johnson was being blackmailed, to which she responded, "I have no idea. I can't comprehend, Tucker, what radically changes a man."

To substantiate her speculation, Greene pointed out the Speaker's pro-life stance and border policy.

Stating Johnson is pro-life, the GOP lawmaker pointed fingers at his recent actions that shifted away from his conservative Christian values.

"Just less than two weeks ago, he funded full-term abortion clinics, full-term abortion clinics. He funded the trans agenda on children. I mean, how does that even happen from a Christian conservative Republican speaker?" Greene fumed.

She further accused Johnson of doing nothing to secure the southern border. "This comes on the heels of Laken Riley being brutally murdered. This came on the heels of a video that was running on loop on social media, where illegal aliens had rushed our border, ran over Texas National Guard, ran over Border Patrol agents in order to invade our country. These were military age men, by the way. He did nothing to secure our border. It's the number one issue in the world," the Trump ally added.

Greene's tirade against Johnson continued, alleging that he changed himself, financed the FBI with a new building, and fully funded the Justice Department, which is targeting right-wing individuals, particularly trying to jail the GOP's 2024 presidential candidate, Trump, for life.

"We don't know who Mike Johnson is anymore. So there's - no, I can't comprehend it," she added.

Internet echoes Marjorie Taylor Greene's claims

Netizens agreed with the Republican Congresswoman's speculation regarding Johnson's policy shift.

One user considered her claim as "plausible," while another wrote, "MTG makes a valid point. People want to see a peace deal. No more lives need perish on either side."

"MTG is absolutely correct in her assessment," a third user remarked.

A fourth response read, "Yes, I believe Schumer is controlling of the speaker. What other reason might there be? He looks uni-party not conservative."

"I've thought the same thing for some time. No man that claims to be a Christian and is led by his faith would agree to the bills he has brought to the house," someone else said.

An individual suggested, "EXACTLY....WHAT DO THE DEMS HAVE ON HIM...HE SHOULD STEP DOWN BEFORE ANYTHING HAPPENS IF HE HAS SOMETHING HE DOES NOT WANT EXPOSED."

"He has changed for sure and isn’t honoring his commitments or reflecting his supposedly Christian beliefs in his actions. In fact, it’s satanic," a user added.
