NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene took to X (formerly Twitter) to slam House Speaker Mike Johnson for working to provide funding to Ukraine in their war against Russia, on Monday, April 1, 2024.

Citing a report published in Responsible Statecraft, Greene claimed that Johnson's efforts were against the American people's will as most wanted the overseas conflict between the two foreign countries to end.

Marjorie Taylor Greene doesn't want the US to give Ukraine aid

"Speaker Johnson is planning to give another $60 BILLION to keep the war raging in Ukraine and go against the will of 70% of the American people," the Georgia Representative wrote on X.

"Even worse, he’s going to suspend the rules to pass it," Greene added.

She followed her tweet with a screengrab of a report from the publication, which spoke of a survey that showed "Biden administration policy toward Russia is increasingly out of step with public opinion."

"Roughly 70% of Americans want the Biden administration to push Ukraine toward a negotiated peace with Russia as soon as possible, according to a new survey from the Harris Poll and the Quincy Institute, which publishes Responsible Statecraft," the highlighted text in the screenshot read.

Internet slams Marjorie Taylor Greene for being against aid to Ukraine

Netizens trolled Marjorie Taylor Greene in response to her stance and asked her to "stop helping Putin".

"Good. And in return the Democrats will save his speaker job from the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene. Sorry MTG... but you lose again," a social media user said on X.

"And STOP HELPING PUTIN. You keep trying to hold up aid for them and that’s exactly what Putin wants. He jailed a ballerina for donating $52 to Ukraine. SHUT UP MARJORIE," wrote one person.

"By 'keeping the war raging' you really mean 'preventing our enemy Russia from destroying our ally Ukraine and stopping Russia's crimes against humanity' / You are a despicable Putin shill, Ms. Greene," one social media user said.

"You are no different than the Americans who kept the US out of WWII because it "wasn't our problem" while failing to realize the Axis powers were never going to stop and the longer we waited to stop them, the higher the death toll would be for everyone. Russia's economy is collapsing. They have suffered significant losses and Russian citizens are getting fed up with Putin. Helping Ukraine continue to defend itself is not only the morally correct course of action, it is also in the best interests of our nation, our allies, and the world," they added.

"That is a super rough number because I don't know anybody who wants to see the Russian war machine run over a peaceful neighboring country except for you comrade MTG," commented another individual.

"The war is raging because of Putin's invasion, whether we help Ukraine or not. Plus, helping out Ukraine might induce Putin to seek peace, since it will show him the West won't let him win in Ukraine. So try better arguments," one user said.
