'Polarised feelings': Ariana Grande reveals why 2023 was one of the 'most challenging' years of her life

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ariana Grande made a heartfelt reflection on what she described as "one of the most transformative, most challenging, and yet happiest and most special years" of her life. 

On Friday, December 29, the 'Love Me Harder' singer candidly spoke about the highs and lows in her life throughout the year as she gave her fans a glimpse of the struggles of navigating life in the public eye, according to ET.

In her post, Grande stated, "There were so many beautiful" in 2023 and "yet polarized feelings." The songwriter further talked about the impact the year had on her as she said, "I've never felt more at the mercy of and in acceptance of what life was screaming to teach me."

Amid "unfathomably hard" times, she felt joy and pride in her work.

In her post, Grande expressed gratitude for the projects she has been part of this year. The artist who filmed the 'Wicked' movie adaptation in London this year also thanked the people she came across during her works. 

Grande then talked about how she is being misunderstood by people who do not truly know her. She shed light on how important self-awareness and understanding are as she spoke about the rumors about her.

"I have never felt more pride or joy or love while simultaneously feeling so deeply misunderstood by people who don't know me, who piece whispers together and make what they want out of me and their assumptions of my life," she wrote.

Ariana Grande says she's 'protecting' herself from negative energy

According to ET, Grande and her now-boyfriend Ethan Slater who met on the set of 'Wicked' began dating after they both had separated from their respective spouses.

The 'Safety Net' singer said she is "reacting to things that deserve my energy only and removing and protecting myself from things that do not."

"I feel more human than ever. I feel more deeply than ever. I feel softer and stronger, all at once," Grande added while she offered a message of resilience and self-love.

"If you ever feel misunderstood or alone, just remember that it will pass and you are not. Take a deep breath and know that you are so incredibly loved. I cannot wait for next year," she concluded her post.
