'Precious' star Gabourey Sidibe and husband Brandon Frankel welcome twins Cooper and Maya
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Congratulations are for Gabourey Sidibe and Brandon Frankel!
The ‘Precious’ star and her husband recently revealed to The Shade Room that they have welcomed twins, a boy named Cooper and a girl named Maya, in early April.

The newly-minted parents recently shared the good news with the news outlet while revealing some photos with their little munchkins.
In the photos, the 41-year-old actress and her husband can be seen posing while holding each of their twins.
According to Shutterstock, the couple welcomed their children in early April. The ‘Empire’ star, who shared with the outlet the history behind the naming of their babies, said, "Brandon always wanted to name a son Cooper, so we call him 'Coop,' and Maya was named shortly before our baby moon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico.”
She also revealed, "Both twins have traditional West African middle names after members of my family."

"They're both extremely strong and hilarious, though they have yet to really interact with each other," gushed the proud mother.
The ‘Antebellum’ actress shared, "Cooper will sometimes speak for Maya and alert us that she's about to spit up. Maya loves her name being sung to her and is the queen of comedic timing, and Cooper loves his sleep and has the funniest facial expressions. They both love cuddling with Mom and Dad."
The couple previously shared the news of pregnancy through an Instagram post in February. During the recent interview, Sidibe and Frankel noted that while they were "over the moon in anticipation" for their twins' arrival, they were left surprised by their birth.

Sidibe shared, "We originally were going in for a routine appointment, only to be told the twins would be coming later that day and not when originally planned.”
The new mother continued, “We're excited for outfits and getting them dressed up, for sing-alongs, trips and to explore, and raising them to be good people.”
The couple previously shared the news of their pregnancy in an adorable post on Instagram in February, where she wrote, “I’m pregnant! We thought it was time to give our cats some responsibility so we’re giving them each a baby to take care of! Double the babies,double the cats, double the fun!! Twin Delivery coming soon!” before adding, “Twinty Twinty Four!!”
