LONDON, ENGLAND: The critically acclaimed Netflix series 'The Crown,' which follows a partially fictitious version of the Windsor family, is not a big hit with the royal family.

Actor Dominic West played Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, in the last two seasons of 'The Crown'. The actor recently disclosed that he had a falling out with Prince Harry, although they were once close.

The Duke of Sussex, another Old Etonian, and 'The Crown' star West were so close that they hiked to the South Pole together in support of the Walking for the Wounded, per Daily Mail.

'Harry threw a fit and accused Dominic of invading his privacy'

Actor West's close friend revealed in 2022 that he had a falling out with the Prince following West's remarks made during a cordial joint news appearance after their expedition with wounded service members, including double amputees.

One of the stories that West shared was about how they celebrated beating the weather by sipping champagne from one of their fellow explorers' prosthetic limbs.

In May 2022, a friend of West's revealed, "Harry threw a s*** fit. He accused Dominic of invading his privacy. Dominic told him not to be ridiculous. They haven't spoken since."

In an even more unusual turn of events, the source claimed that Harry, 39, has since taken action against anyone he believes to be a friend of the fellow actor.

Dominic West said Prince Harry is a 'really cool guy'

The actor who plays Harry's father, Prince Charles, on the Netflix hit, has recently disclosed that while he was formerly friends with Harry, the two have since parted ways, reportedly because of comments West made in public regarding his performance in the role.

After West revealed details of Prince Harry's "two-day bender" in 2014 at a press conference, where the royal drank liquor via a prosthetic leg, Harry ceased speaking to 'The Crown' actor.

Thinking back to his time with the Duke of Sussex, West recounted how the group had celebrated their arrival at the South Pole while walking with the wounded in Antarctica.

West told the reporters at the time, "Two of the Aussie guys stripped naked and ran round the pole but most of us, Harry included, just went on a two-day bender with the Icelandic truck drivers who had brought some lethal home brew with them," as per Daily Mail.

West went on, "There was a lot of liqueur drunk." He added that they "all drank champagne" off Duncan Slater's "favorite prosthetic leg". Slater is a double amputee who was wounded in Afghanistan in 2009.

Additionally, West disclosed that Harry "told some eye-wateringly rude jokes which for a non-soldier like me was pretty shocking!"

However, the 54-year-old 'The Wire' star also revealed that Harry is a "really cool guy” and “very much part of the team".

At the time, West revealed, "He [Harry] would often reach the meeting point before the rest of his men and would build these incredibly lavish, castellated latrines, with battlements and loo roll holders."

In addition, West mentioned that Harry gave him assistance when he was "struggling" on his skis and concluded, "He was a great guy."

Dominic West 'said too much' about Prince Harry's revelry

Speaking in a recent interview with Times Radio, 'The Wire' and 'The Affair' star, West said: "We sort of [lost touch because] I said too much in a press conference, and so, we didn't speak after that."

Regarding the Walking With the Wounded expedition, West remarked, "I think I was asked what we did. [And] what we did to celebrate when we got there and [I] probably said too much."

During the 'welcome home' press conference that West attended, he revealed how the then 29-year-old Prince's abilities had benefited the Commonwealth squad during the tour, particularly his willingness to pitch in and assist with bathroom construction.

"It must have taken him 40 minutes at least to build, they were just fabulous. I would often sit on the latrine thinking, ‘This is a royal flush in every way!'" West admitted he joked at the time.

The actor revealed that he and Harry parted "over 10 years ago", and thus, he was unable to consult the Duke of Sussex for guidance on how to portray his father in the production.

After learning that they would be covering Princess Diana's death in Season 6, West also prevented his 15-year-old son, Senan West, from playing the role of a young Prince William.

While acknowledging that his son had performed a "great" job as William in the previous season, West said, "I didn’t really fancy doing the scene at Balmoral [Castle], telling a boy his mother has died."

For his part, Harry played down the specifics of their trip, telling the media during the press conference in 2014 that it was an "unbelievable achievement by everyone behind me" and that it showed "those who have suffered life-changing injuries that anything is still possible".
