LONDON, ENGLAND: According to sources, Prince Harry is set to receive a quite expensive 40th birthday gift. The Duke of Sussex will turn 40 on September 15 and receive an incredible monetary gesture to mark the milestone.

Harry will receive a substantial payout due to planning made by his late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother, compared to his estranged brother Prince William.

William was treated to a ceremonial bell concert at Westminster Abbey when he turned 40, as reported by the New York Post.

According to The Times, the late Queen Mother devised a $90 million family trust fund with the provision that the Duke of Sussex would receive his portion upon turning 40.

As per reports, the father of two will gain an incredible $8.5 million from his share, which is more than William is expected to receive.

However, Harry would still have to shell out taxes on his inheritance, while his elder brother would profit from the tax-exempt Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate that finances his public, philanthropic, and private endeavors.

"William will benefit from the vast wealth of the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate that funds the public, charitable, and private activities of the king’s heir," a source told The Post.

"As a result, Harry is likely to receive slightly more than half of the £14 million allocated for the brothers," they added.

The large amount of money will be an excellent boost to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's net worth, which is currently contentedly hovering around $60 million.

Harry and his wife Meghan Markle relocated to Montecito, California, after exiting as senior working royals. Having taken on other high-profile enterprises since leaving royal life in 2020, their net worth has increased significantly.

These projects include Meghan's 12-episode podcast, 'Archetypes,' and Harry's autobiographical tell-all, 'Spare', and a six-part Netflix documentary, that they decided after sitting down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The Post claimed that Harry has been considering writing a follow-up. With Meghan's new lifestyle business, American Riviera Orchard, about to launch, the two will also be reaping enormous financial rewards.

Netizens react to Prince Harry's impending fortune

Following the revelation of Harry's 40th birthday gift from his late great-grandmother, social media users took to X (formerly Twitter) to claim the Duchess of Sussex might be waiting to scoop her share of the impending wealth.

One X user posted, "Is Meghan Markle desperate to get her hands on Prince Harry’s incoming inheritance? Wait till Meghan finds out Prince William is in charge of The Duchy of Cornwall which contains assets up to £1.9B"

Others flocked to the comment section to provide their opinions, as one said, "Normally that is a huge amount of money, but when you are married to MM really it is not much. Their entire life is just an illusion of being around ppl who really ARE about that life."

"She already knows, it was said st one time that she thought it should be shared out between them no kidding lol," wrote a second user.

Another claimed, "I’m a bit befuddled by this because £7M isn’t really all that much in her world. Wouldn’t last her long."

One remarked, "Her big payday isn't coming from Harry's small inheritance, she'll make $50m selling a 3 part book deal exposing him and every one of his secrets. That's where the money is. Stories could be handy in custody battles."

"Legally Harry can turn around & put that money into trust. He doesn't have to include it in marital money," added another.

"Her money is hers. His money is hers. Their money is hers," quipped another.

One assumed, "I bet Meghan has set the divorce in motion……she will want a big share of his inheritance."
