Prince William and Kate Middleton congratulate Team Great Britain

Prince William's beard made its debut over the summer when the Prince of Wales shared a congratulatory post on Instagram with his wife and the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, following Team Great Britain’s success at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The post was flooded with praise for his new look. In the brief clip, Prince William, sporting a rugged look and a blue Team Great Britain polo shirt, congratulated British athletes with a heartfelt, "Well done to Team GB you've been an inspiration to us all."

The royal couple’s accompanying social media post celebrated Team Great Britain’s dedication and passion, expressing excitement for the team at the then upcoming Paralympics.

The viral video, which has garnered over 150,000 likes, also featured messages from notable figures like former England captain David Beckham, American sprinter Michael Johnson, former Welsh athlete Colin Jackson, broadcaster Emma Willis and American rapper Snoop Dogg, a notable guest presenter at the Paris Olympics.

Kate and William’s video followed a heartfelt statement from King Charles III, who lauded the Olympians as "an inspiration", commending their "raw talent, true grit, and hard toil" just hours before the Olympic Games concluded in Paris.

Despite briefly going clean-shaven, the return of the beard has reignited speculation that the Prince William may be leaning into this look for the long haul. His beard's return isn't unprecedented—he sported a thick beard in 2008 during Christmas Day church services—but recent years have seen him favor a smooth face.

Could a no-shave November be on the horizon for Prince William? Only time will tell.
